Me & a mate in John Menzies on a Saturday when it had a record dept. I think early 1979??They were playing the NB&P album. (Prob cos Hit Me was no 1) I knew it was “Plaistow Patricia” next…and the joy when the opening expletive laden intro blasted out of the speakers. Hilarious & satisfying.

Yeah! Always great for a bargain. I got WIRE “Behind The Curtain” CD there for sweeties(much later). To be honest, when I think about it, can’t remember seeing that album anywhere else. Let’s leave Bandparts for another discussion!

A great way to start your gig career. Mine was less impressive - Gary Glitter in 1973. I was 13. I didn’t go back stage afterwards though 👀. Stepped up my game and saw every punk act bar the Pistols. Later saw James Brown live, and talked with him backstage. I also ghost wrote for Happy Mondays Bez!

He almost couldn’t. We were out on motorcycles together one night and he rode into a dry stone wall and nearly killed himself. That was 1999 I think. I was with him and the band backstage at V99 that year after their gig. That was messy.
