That one does look fake, you’re right. But most of the others look very real. But anything’s possible, I suppose. I can only take it at face value. It doesn’t say anywhere on the account that it’s a parody. Why parody something so awful and deplorable and not claim it’s a parody?
I haven’t read them all. Some folks have suggested tit might be fake. Anything’s possible, I suppose. I can only take it at face value. It doesn’t say anywhere on the account that it’s a parody. Why parody something so awful and deplorable and not claim it’s a parody?
I used to own a house cleaning business, had an employee start a instagram page where they took photos of weird stuff they found in my clients homes, luckily I found out about it before they actually posted anything.
That’s what this reminds me of.
I would never want to submit to this company.
I did a stint writing slush pile rejection letters. The "craziest" manuscripts I ran into were from people pouring their very real mental illnesses onto paper. It was scarring, not amusing, nor something I would want to inflict on others.
TLDR; I totally agree.
Yes. I agree. And even the ideas that might seem silly to some should not be mocked or dismissed. There’s a reader for every story. Scalzi just wrote a book about the moon turning to cheese, for goodness’ sake.
Some folks have suggested this might be fake. Anything’s possible, I suppose. I can only take it at face value. But why parody something so awful and deplorable and not claim it’s a parody? If it is, they should come out and say so! If no writers were affected, that would be the best outcome.
I agree, it's unethical - not least because the "craziest" unsolicited mss include stuff like hate sexual assault porn against named real people. And very likely because of that, such an account will probably end up sharing only fake "bad manuscripts" they ginned up with a text generator. Blah...
There was an agent who used to do this all the time on her Twitter account to the point I put her on my permanent "Do Not Query" list. And she was a legitimate literary agent, though she did seem to change agencies on a regular basis.

Taking the works that people have poured their efforts into and A: making them public without payment and B: mocking them is unconscionable.

And a great agent.
