I wish chronically ill people could do a “freaky Friday” switch with our non disabled peers.
If they could feel what it’s like to exist in our bodies, they might be more compassionate.
Alternatively, I would like to know what it’s like to exist in a body free from pain. A body that feels safe.

Will they then just say, "there but for the grace of God go I?" and look away again?
If you think "Oh but the other body is not disabled," there are horror movies where this happens and everyone you know won't recognize you as you, leaving you alone and afraid forever.
Totally bad idea if I'm not put in suicide watch before the swap occurs.
There are people out there who just walk around without pain.
That must be so nice.
Of course we learned through trial and error.
