The sound design team of Indiana Jones & the Great Circle really hates nazis. They clearly spent a lot of time getting that “hammer to the head” sound juuuust right.

I love this game - two little winks I've enjoyed are: Voss' asides about "confrontation + encouragement and the insecure male will give you his undying devotion" and one note found in Himalayas longs for crew to work for the greater good 😄
The “Sniper Elite” series is really great for this. The slow-mo viscera and gruesome sound effects of exploding Nazi skulls (ribs, gonads, etc.) is something you can tell they really spent a lot of time and care on.
They spent a lot of time researching the social norms of the day too. People casually watching a guy climb up a whip on the side of a section of wall with kinda white paint splashed on it? That was a common mode of travel at the time. No one batted an eye.
Raiders is my favorite movie of all time. One reason is because it cracked the code for maintaining a Sympathetic Hero by allowing Indy to kill dozens of people but remain sympathetic because who cares if you kill Nazis. I miss those days.
they kept getting complaints from my grandpa, he said out of the dozens he hammered to death in France they made that exact noise so he wanted it to be historically accurate. I look forward to recreating those sounds on the new nazis someday soon.
Nazis are ideal villains. You don’t have to explain anything, you just know they’re doing some evil shit the moment they show up. Food banks? Evil. Free daycare? Evil. Archeology? Really fucking evil.
Pity they made it 1st person would have had a much bigger player base, seems lacking & lazy like a lot of titles that were either rushed or taking up bandwidth to distribute live ads over focus on gameplay and the increased casino's presence they need to concentrate on quality not shareholders loot
I was saying recently: The game is "cinematic" in many traditional ways, but Foley work is something we don't usually include in the definition of that.
The movies work in part because they're pulpy, with violence that's usually slapstick/cartoony — and the exaggerated SFX are a huge part of that!
I just finished SFX for a game and the engineer who was implementing my sounds is a gun nut who kept complaining that my sounds weren’t realistic. It’s literally a Sci-Fi game where you shoot renegade robots with things that look like Nerf guns. 😆
i was also happy that they actually had german speakers for them. yesterday i thought i had changed the language settings when they started talking among themselves ^^ also voss is the pinnacle of horrible, creepy nazi.
All of a sudden i am interested in purchasing this game. Fun fact, the foley artist solution for the bat to the head in the untouchables was a frozen turkey.
I appreciate the effort put into Nazi Punching Simulator '24. In this crazy world, it can be the little acts of self-love - like punching nazis - that really add-up, you know?

All their games are centered around a man mass murdering Nazis and I’m absolutely here for it.
Good on them.
I cannot wait for their turn at a modern day shooter.
Lots of expertise in Nazi killing games. Fascists and racists broadly.
Fast travelling in and out, just to get the fascists to respawn, so I can move around the map and shove them all to their death again.
In fact, rewatch the Raiders of the Lost Ark before you do, I won't explain why but you will be happy you did.

Just that one little thing.
What a great game.
Which, is pretty great when it happens.
If you use a guitar - The Right Note.
What a great game. GOTY the next four years easily.
(I’m obviously joking lol)
