Not to brag, but I found every single book I was looking for today at the local used bookstore--even the out of print ones--and I feel like an absolute champion

I really miss exploring used bookstores. I will *never* complain about accessibility when it comes to stores like this. I know they survive on a shoestring, but.. I miss them.
I was an impoverished student. I used to spend weeks crawling around bookstores and their cardboard boxes looking for next semester's book list. Had a blast. It was the best treasure hunt ever! Congratulations!
Probably 75% of the time, I don't find what I'm looking for at my big used bookstore, or even at their second location. But I still like to (try?) to support them.
What an odd post to have pop off… love that y’all love this W for me haha! Anyway support your local independent bookstore! You can probably buy my books there too if you want to! Buy new, buy used—your money does a lot more in your community than it does online!
I got a box of books left on the sidewalk by my neighbor who is moving. Not really authors I am interested in, but I collect books from every discounted source I can find. Finding certain authors' books that I don't yet have is always a thrill for me.
In the UK, for many years, we have had charity book shops in every town, they are wonderful for finding a wide selection of titles, including out of print books, all at a low price. Yesterday I found the great American critic Richard Ellman's biography of Oscar Wilde for £2.
