This is my first post on Bluesky.
As a former director for civic integrity at Twitter, I’ve been familiar with Bluesky for years, even before it was a real thing.
Today, I took the step of leaving Twitter, completely, and I’m happy to be here.
Why? Here’s my last tweet:

I was delighted to see your virtual face here.😉
Elon killed it!
PS: Links in the copy of the thread are still t[.]co links, and it might be better if they're replaced with the original links
But I chose that particular page because it was the most straightforward and easy-to-read encapsulation of the entire thread.
Here is another version, w/original links:

That's reasonable, the mem[.]ai page is indeed so readable I read through the whole thing again despite having already seen the original thread (since I haven't left that place yet)
Followed you here. And welcome. 😊
It's even worse there now. I don't know if it's bc I retweeted your thread or agreed with others but they're punishing me. I've been locked out for no reason and my account is severely limited. I got 0 notifications today. Don't think I've seen that in a decade. I think he saw your thread. 😅
I kept my handle on the X space for fear it would be sold to a troll or bad-actor from among the anti-human w⚓️ community. Does this happen?
And yes, it’s a good idea to hang onto your old handle, and to not deactivate your account, because yes, squatters can sometimes grab old handles.
I've got high hopes this place.
I have yet to see a platform that cultivates responsible civic engagement
So, welcome to the Bluesky Edward.
A much better informative and social app in my humble opinion. 👋🏽😉
That’s personal psychological weakness, enabled by systemic plutocracy.”
Word up.
I was hoping for more constructive, nuanced, and educational thoughts. Alas. This place already has more than enough jaded cynicism and negative generalization.
Constructive:
Don’t amplify/elevate posts that seek to undermine the basic tenet that all people are equal.
Nuanced:
Casting this “debate” as “free speech v censorship” is a misleading attempt to redirect from outsized power in one person’s hands.
Educational:
Think. Critically.
Godspeed.
Then they wont say "on X formerly known as Twitter " anymore.
As long we play here this day come closer every second.
Welcome to BlueSky.

I too stopped posting there shortly after musk bought it. Occasionally I go back to take a look only to satisfy my morbid curiosity. It is both horrifying and sad in equal measure.
And welcome to Bluesky, sir.
“Oh, but I still have friends there”, is the common reason for staying. Sometimes doing the right thing isn’t easy, or costs a few bucks.
I hope more follow your lead.
(Although it’s also true that the actual user experience has been substantially downgraded since the takeover.)
There are a lot of recent refugees from Twitter (never “X”) who arrived here, myself included.
Welcome.
May you find yours too.
Although I've been using Twitter for almost a decade, I'm about to delete it permanently.
Musk has ruined the experience.
Welcome!
