People will be like "Oh! These trans people want outrageous things!" and the "outrageous things" are literally just
• legal protections against discrimination in employment, housing, healthcare, public accommodations, etc
• the ability to update identity documents to accurately reflect name/gender

Seriously tho I started to recognize at some point that a lot of conservatives arguments hinge on a reality that doesn't exist but if it did it'd be very convenient for their arguments.

...desire to experience human dignity and respect.
Maybe, unmitigated propaganda + psyops + unlimited money influences persuadable populations.
Transphobia is the extreme position.
I’m just sick that this will happen again.
glad picking up and leaving is easy for you, but I'm aware of how fucked my state is, and we're PFLAG members, but picking up and leaving isn't an option right now

• Not being persecuted for something that doesn't harm anyone and isn't your fault in any case
• Being able to be yourself and not having to hide
Or even simpler ...
• Living life
I don't get why it has to be so hard
I want to update my name and documents and then live in peace doing normal things like everyone else... I want to just live but no that's too much
so whiny & entitled. it'd be like if you said a het couple aren't legitimate partners because you don't believe heterosexuality is a real thing. & then banning het marriage.
A gay friend/client calmly explained that he and his partner of 20 years couldn't buy life insurance, couldn't collect wrongful death benefits, couldn't get health insurance.
Its basic civil rights.
Neither cared anything about sports. One was a F to M, they thought it was weird looking like a young man to have to use a ladies washroom. Sports is the thing that riles people up. And washrooms.
People need to quit worrying so much about other people and the bathroom
Lady was in there with what appeared to be her two boys. I didn’t give a shit. They needed to go. No thought entered my mind like “ope, a bio woman has entered our sacred
Holy of Holies, better yell”.
If we can just get people to feel that way, that's enough.
I truly do not give a shit about sports. But this isn't about "sports." If you offered the people obsessed with sports a full ban on trans people participating in exchange for social and legal acceptance otherwise, they'd say no way. Why? Because this isn't about sports.
There was a case with a convicted rapist in Scotland, claimed they were a woman, wanted woman's prison. Talked about on the radio for days. They held a simple hearing, said you're a danger to women, you're not going in that prison. Simple. Not a reason to deny trans identity.
(And even if they got their wish, they'd probably start freaking out about trans men and women playing in the same group, and demand a fourth one.)

Like “taxes” is just a cover for racism.
The egalitarian ideal of "let the best man win" is dead.
But then trans men were competing against the women because of rules about “competing with the gender you were assigned at birth.”
The problem is voters in red and swing states believe to their core that it is a huge issue and a top policy of Ds.
I hate giving an inch on this, though. Trans kids shouldn’t have to choose between happiness and a sport they love.
All that noise is about "protecting" 16 year old girls who might lose their last place on the track team. This might be the pinnacle of life for some.
God I hate RW propaganda. Facebook has the mother of my trans daughter worried about the integrity of women's sports. That's not a thing!
That's fair as people need to prevent identity theft. But that should be it. Once you do that, it should all be sorted.
Hoop after hoop after hoop is not on.
* The ability to obtain medication in accordance with a freely-acting doctor’s recommendation
The horror.
I recommend that someone try it before naysaying it.
