The only reason I’m in support right now is because any major religious and political figure who is willing to speak out against the current regime in the United States is a win.

I will never not be shocked that the rot is so pervasive, it's impossible to find someone at the top of the hierarchy who isn't somehow implicated in the coverup.
They probably cannot beat it because every case is likely tangled up with every administrative position going back a century, and they made bad choices almost every time.
Unfortunately, we’re probably minimum 20 years away from having cardinals who weren’t involved in covering up the actions of diddling priests to some degree
i mean the fact that this guy is apparently known for nothing other than covering up a child abuse scandal is impressive, it's like the cardinals are making a joke
