This was already my plan. Largely because the tariffs will make things too expensive anyways. There's a strong chance the coming administration will do this to themselves without anyone's help.
People should already only focus on the essentials and seek to acquire whatever gold and silver they can with the difference, for this will protect them against hyperinflation.
Whether they are willing to pay a higher price to support a local business is their personal decision. Each person should decide which causes they are most interested in supporting whether that's local businesses or something else.
My family already agreed . No Christmas gifts, no young kids anymore so everyone needs to pay their bills , pay down credit. Christmas will be spent sharing food and donating to local Soup Kitchen.
I want him to feel the burn 2025
We should all be doing this no matter who is in that office. Supporting any billionaire's business by continuing to buy from this only makes them richer. Give the local people your business if you can.
January 20, Do not turn on TV or internet. Do not spend any money, only use necessary items like heat and water. Do not shop, especially at Amazon. Do not go to work! Let's tell the billionaires we mean business. The 1st of many walk outs. A walk or good book is free!
I will spend this January 20th remembering my husband on what would have been….. is…..our 35th anniversary .
I miss him 💔and will not let that day be tarnished in anyway!!!
We should have started with black Thursday. But instead the corporations got to celebrate another top-performing sales year. Even when people say they don't like the price of eggs, it is just the color of skin they don't like.
Only buying essentials from local businesses is frugal and a great way to support your community. But big corporations also make products that go into everything. Corporations are inevitable, cutting costs is plain ol’ good economics.
Most of us won’t have a choice. Over the next admin, benefits cut, jobs lost, businesses will shutter. My fam has gone into essentials mostly shopping. We cut Xmas spending by over 70% v LY. Cutting out lux spending like dining out/frivolous snacking. As a family it’s around $1000/month.
Why wait? I’ve already started with no Xmas presents, no Amazon, cut off a couple streaming channels, cut off streaming main stream “non” news and haven’t watched any cable news. Trying to figure out better grocery stores to spend my money at but living on a fixed income makes it tough.
I can do that! Hit them where it really hurts & pad our own bank accounts at the same time. I live near Woodmans grocery stores that are employee owned. They are huge, have an incredible selection of products & best prices anywhere. (also,Costco is a big contributor to Dems. Good place to shop).
I'd say it's too early to attempt strikes/boycotts. If & when Trump flies his true colors, there will be plenty of time for actions... as long as they are properly targeted.
But we should be attacking the denial practices of the Health Ins. Industry, now that the bright spotlight is on them.
I would absolutely love to buy from local shops but my grocery budget would literally double and there's very limited availability of the things I need to buy.
I've been thinking the same thing. Get off my ass and shop locally. We need to do more to support our communities and local businesses, otherwise there will be nothing left but ecommerce ordering from Walmart and Amazon.
Great! Though, a lot of people cannot afford to shop at small businesses. Location is a huge issue too. Works great for people in cities. Not so good for most of the country. I'm definitely gonna buy as little as possible, but I live in a rural state & just can't always shop/afford local.
No. I reskeeted her in a "Get a load of what this useless politician is saying. She's beyond useless!" kind of way. I hope it didn't look that way! My book post broke up that post and the next repost which was someone telling her to stfu.
Weirdly, orders of our product on Amazon have completely dried up. Meanwhile, they’re doing ok on our own website. (TergiKleen dot net). Sales are down a little but it’s good timing because I am laid up with a broken foot.
Yep. Quite a few small businesses in my area have MAGA signs outside. One of them was the stylist I used to go to. I loved her cuts. Too bad she lost my business when she hung a huge Trump banner outside. I'd let my cat cut my hair before I'd go back to that MAGA cow.
Thankfully, here we have great farmers markets for fresh produce year round. I signed up for a monthly meat CSA, so we have farm raised beef, pork, and chicken delivered. And they're all rational, pro democracy people!!!!
Love it, not spending a dime on Christmas here, dictator donny doesn't need a "good" Economy, hisassholiness build his own, to hand over to Elon. Defund Elon now. Mars doesn't want him Up there either
Many of us will participate in #DemocracyDonationDay
in support of orgs who will be leading the fight and the independent journalists who will be truthfully reporting it.
That's my personal ProjectFuckGOP. For the next 4 years. Only essentials & no MSN/CableNews. Supporting Independent Journalists and small businesses for necessities.
I would love to see this happen. It would be so beneficial for the Mom and Pop shops of American that I think that they would greatly appreciate such a strike.
I am not going to make any major purchases during the entire term of the incoming administration. I'm all stocked up with new appliances and new central air system. I need to conserve all available cash for whatever BS the 41% approval rated incoming tiny handed man does.
Same. Just replaced my water heater this week (thanks for breaking before January). Bought the stuff we have been saving for our remodel in the summer already.
I replaced my water heater too. Literally everything using electricity is 2 years old or less. Good thing you bought your materials before prices go up.
I’ve started working with neighbors to share things. My one neighbor grows parsley, basil, etc. she let me harvest some, i dehydrate and grind it and give them some. I’ll expand our garden next year. I’m going to buy from local growers as much as possible.
All for it!! If we all just stopped going to work and buying gas and didn’t buy anything for 2 days, if we could get everyone it would make a massive impact.
This is one approach that I have been trying to get Americans to do.... the power of the purse. Don't like the price ...DONT BUY !!
Don't like corporation CEO salaries .... DONT BUY !!
A choice is to do nothing. We and other area farmers are not planting in spring. The last tariffs wiped out 8 area farms and we can’t risk the huge overhead on it. 69 and 51% of vegetables and fruits are Mexican, but our sister farms in Mexico have already contracted buyers outside the US.
If you aren’t planting in spring then what’s your plan? Granted I know nothing about large-scale farming but it’s no secret the overhead is substantial and margins are small. I can’t imagine you’re able to just wait it out?
I’m already well on my way. All large purchases have been made, house is in order, and larger garden is planned. I’m fortunate that I already can and preserve. I canceled Amazon, and all unnecessary subscriptions. I even switched to the free library language app.
I'm buying up any big ticket items that I'd been putting off right now. After 1/20/25 I had already planned on bunkering down, staying home unless I absolutely had to go anywhere & buying only what I absolutely had to have. And as you stated, from hometown stores if they have what I need.
And don’t support maga. We had a a cheesecake shop open in our small town. Their FB page was all about him. I will never step into their shop. It was so over the top. Nope.
Unless those hometown stores supported he whose name must not be uttered. I downloaded the app GoodsUniteUs so I know which businesses donate to the republicans
That’s only true if you omit the hundreds of thousands of small businesses like mine that sell on Amazon. A quarter million or so of us, accounting for more than half of Amazon’s sales.
What I’m seeing recently is that companies like Amazon and Etsy are trying to substitute AI for seller support and failing miserably. So many sellers have had their accounts shut down with no explanation or recourse. Amazon Canada is threatening my account right now because I had one delivery held…
Been doing that for decades. Clothes come from thrift stores, grow a lot of my own food, shop local small businesses, barter with neighbors, go to library for books/movies instead of streaming movies, etc.
I've said this all along. If only Americans refused to buy/consume processed foods, you would have seen food prices drop like a rock, and Harris might have been elected
If the Biden administration had raided the corporate headquarters of the five biggest food companies and charged the execs with price fixing, not only would prices have stayed lower but Dems would have won big.
Congress can regulate price changes (requirements to prove price increases of raw materials). It's not just the food companies but the retailers increasing margins with no guardrails. The retailers have been increasing their margins since covid to make higher profits.
Congress is quite corrupt, both sides kow tow to special interest. These elected officials love their job so much they forgot who they work for. Term limits would be a great start.
If people stop consuming, prices go down. Basic economics. People have immense power, but they'd rather focus their anger the Fox News villian du jour. Fox https://et.al. is masterful at misdirecting their justified anger.
American Airlines is listed in the other photo as backing republican but here in your photo, it's saying the opposite. We should all do our own research.
Good idea … I think “consumerism”, (addiction), is ‘stage four’ of unbridled capitalism … Let’s take hold of the reins and start driving this vehicle … no more Wallstreet bailouts … laws and enforcement instead of the expectation that honorable intentions underlie all political actions …
I have made the conscious decision not to buy anything from republican owned companies or companies that financially support republican politicians. It work to figure out but it's doable.
I already boycott Walmart. I avoid FB most of the time & I've never used threads. I don't subscribe to any streaming service that isn't free. I do have access to Disney+ because my son pays for it & I watch it occasionally.
I'll watch DVDs on 1/20/25 or read a book.
Aldi is good for produce/groceries. They do not contribute to political parties. Costco heavily leans democratic. They have cheaper gas. Thrift stores for clothing and home items. Garage sales, flea markets, and farmers markets in the spring and summer. Google minimalist living for ideas.
Use Goods Unite Us app. Shows you how much thousands of companies donate to Republicans and Democrats. I quit shopping at a lot of places because they mainly give to Republicans.
Oh, I get it. You’re like a Bernie supporter and you think that the Democrats are too establishment. There are businesses in there that don’t donate to any political party at all.
Don't attack, sheesh, I'm solidly anti orange shit. I'm asking an honest question, as putting my shopping dollars to good use is one of the many positive things we can do going forward.
I’m not attacking. I’m just very straightforward. I put the information out there if you want to use it use it if you don’t don’t. 😊 buy from companies who don’t give any political donations
💕..
Trust it, don’t trust it. All I know is that I will buy from businesses who donate more to Democrats or who don’t donate to any political party at all.
Again, political donations are open record. You can look it up online. I posted this app trying to help people I like it. I trust it. If you don’t want to use it, don’t use it.

I can't afford anything and medical debt saddles me.
I want him to feel the burn 2025
I would also love to see a robust system of bartering manifest. Garage sales, flea markets…etc.
But in California so many small business got wiped out by long & restrictive covid policies. And criminal friendly policy.
All benefitted Big Business with deep pockets. Though crime even getting chain groceries & drug stores.
I miss him 💔and will not let that day be tarnished in anyway!!!
…augurated
Hit em right in the pocketbook.
No Tesla.
No Starlink.
OMG list gets long but let’s start with these 2.
Delay payment to Insurance en masse.
(You said you liked dark humor.)
Practically, I live a deep-red state. Most of the small businesses in my city are straight-up fucknuts MAGA-owned flying Jesus flags out front.
I definitely support the ones that ain't.
But we should be attacking the denial practices of the Health Ins. Industry, now that the bright spotlight is on them.
Just do what you can.
Democrats when the Working Class left.
I for one did cancel Amazon Prime and haven’t purchased anything from there since the Bozos WaPo refusal to endorse.
General Boycott,
National Boycott,
National Strike,
Etc.
We can do it!
1. groceries
2. gas/fuel for cars
3. Insurance
4. Internet
5. Consumer goods, clothing, laundry
Respectfully yours.

I also think it should probably be done to the degree one can, anyway, regardless of the political situation.
That said, we will probably continue when money isn't an issue cause money will still be an issue. #incominginflation
I might reconsider if the smiling penis box from space starts taking better care of his employees.
Inauguration Day = Unsubscribe Date
(Even if you’ve paid through year, unsubscribing from media, email lists, platforms/logging out specifically..even turning off phone that day)
Don't like corporation CEO salaries .... DONT BUY !!
But it would make for an interesting social experiment.
That's enough. Don't feel like it's doesn't matter. It does.
- Amazon Prime
- Delete Threads
- Silence on FB
- Cancel Hulu
- Boycott Walmart
- Leave TV off
- Do not spend $
I'll watch DVDs on 1/20/25 or read a book.
Make an example of that company loudly for 1 month.
Add another the following month.
Prices will come right down with far fewer workers getting hurt.
Start with Pepsi or Coca Cola. Or Kelloggs. Something like that.

Saves me over $100 per month but costs them way more in advertising revenue. 🤣🤣
