Every time I see Arendt quoted, I wonder why we aren't looking to Black folks writing and how ancestors dealt with enslavement, backlash to Reconstruction and Jim Crow to understand this moment.

She literally sympathized with Eichmann during his trial and tried to re-write his role in the Holocaust, it’s amazing to me anyone quotes her anymore. I won’t even get into her incorrect views on comparisons of totalitarianism.

I was lucky enough to have professors in undergrad who always coupled white think pieces with W E B Dubois, bell hooks, and many others that are escaping my mind right now. Arendt is the last person ppl should be looking to in this moment.

I’m reading The Wretched of the Earth by Frantz Fanon. Arendt is super critical of Fanon’s book. I’m pretty sure Fanon would have been equally critical of Arendt had he lived
