I have wanted to say this for a while, so here goes: a negative user review for a game someone has played for dozens or even hundreds of hours is not in fact a contradiction, does not invalidate the opinion, and pointing it out is not the gotcha it is made out to be.

I played most of the way through Veilguard before finally deciding it wasn't for me.
I left a negative review for Warframe after they changed how my main, Ember, played. It made her physically difficult for me, a disabled player, to play the game.
If a game can completely rework one of the only characters it didn't hurt to play on a whim, my 1000+ hours is wasted.
Every once in a while, it's possible to get pulled into a game you just don't enjoy, or don't want to play, for reasons you can't fully articulate.
The quality of other games isn't necessarily clear for some time after initial play.
And games like FFXIV are super addictive. Literally thousands of hours spent and a player could entirely hate the game, but that’s where friends are, so they play.
