Costco responded to shareholders requesting that it withdraw from DEI policies. The response was direct and to the point: Costco says, "Our board has considered this proposal and believes that our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect & inclusion is appropriate & necessary."

"Despite making $6.3 billion in profits last year, [COSTCO] seems to be shifting from its once pro-worker stance. Allegations of union-busting tactics, like removing union literature & locking union reps out of bulletin boards, aren't exactly a good look."

But i worked at Safeway as a unionized worker and at Costco as a non-unionized worker and costco was much better(bc safeway was union-busting.)
i still hope they settle things with the union soon.
They shit on America just like the rest of the rich did
Never been in their stores.
I’d love to give TSC the boot, but they vastly undercut everyone else in the area unless you can buy by the ton/pallet/yard at the CO-OP.
But, I do know I’ll be checking the stick of chicken feed over at the other feed store now.

All I’ll say is that Costco is able to retain employees while paying and treating them well, AND my stock keeps going up. They’re doing it right, they should keep doing it.
Hey Walmart .. Are you paying attention?? I didn't think so! Shame on you!

Hope the employees get what they deserve.
We need more of this, and we need to support businesses that are standing up to the b.s!
Thank you, Costco, for having a spine and morals!

I’m sure there are plenty of horrible Trump supporting companies that would love some investment dollars
Customers often become employees.
They don't discriminate based on age, bipoc lgbtq.
The oldest lady who worked at our location was 82 and had worked for them for about 35 years before she retired. She reduced her hours as she got older, but she loved it there..
Transparency and shared values....
Progressives generate 60% of America's GDP. We'd be well served spending our cash, as if our lives depended on it, ONLy with businesses meeting our personal standards.
Same applies to operating a large biz like Costco: employing intolerant bigots incurs a cost to businesses (eg employees who leave company to flee, defending wrongful discharges, etc).
Plus, $4.99 for a rotisserie chicken!

But 20-car drive thru queues? It's not THAT good.
Very true, though.
But, go on with your "miraculous" chicken. 🙄

Ex: Why is everything at WM from China? Because WM convinced American manufactures to go there for the cheap labor.
WM: We want to pay X for your product.
Supplier: That is below our cost,
WM: Have you considered manufacturing in China?
Supplier: No, We have no idea how to do that.
WM: We will help you. We know the best ones to deal with.

Walmart is Anti-American. Why?
Because the "Lowest Price is the Law"
The Waltons are the worst people. Scum is too kind a word for them.

If affirmative action and DEI are detrimental to America, why should we accept the promotions and advancements of unqualified individuals who are not people of color?
I love it because it reflects the diversity of their customers.
Walmart, on the other hand, is atrocious.
Their pay is so terrible that a manager I know has to go to the food bank to make ends meet. She's on salary, so there's no limit to the hours they work without o/t pay.
There's 2 other girls I know who
One guy routinely goes into the store to grab the cashiers breasts.
It's on camera. Management refused to call police and forbid them from taking action.
They walked out.
