Bridge 9 and the Stone Arch Bridge being simultaneously closed long term is less than ideal to put it mildly. Were the repairs to each so necessary that finishing one before starting on the other was out of the question?
The Kellogg/3rd bridge in Saint Paul is out, forcing bikes down 7th Street (MN5) where drivers hit my husband TWICE in less than a year. 🚗 💥🚲 A marked detour with zero bike/ped improvements to make it workable. Well done, MNDOT!
Thank you for posting this. Do we have any idea how long that segment along the Mississippi that goes from 35E into downtown St. Paul will be ripped up?
I believe it is the last piece of my in-town 23-mile loop, so here is hoping. Been years since the whole loop was open. (Cedar, Midtown Greenway, sigh.)
It’s been a long time. Construction on those trails, however (Cedar Lake Trail, Kenilworth Trail, along with connection to Midtown Greenway) are supposed to be done by the end of the construction season.
The google map shows from the river to Target Field as "open in a temporary condition". Then the static image shows that section as "Closed". Last time I was out that way last fall there were "trail closed" barricades but people just biked past them. No clue what's going on with that section
I wonder then if it's *only* the tunnel under Target Field, because you can walk your bike up stairs right before the tunnel to get to the stadium. Or if they'll close the whole stretch
