I don't respect any elected official who thinks or acts like they're entitled to their office, but I at least understand it. voters on the other hand who act like it's some great insult for an elected official to have to actually compete for re-election are a mystery to me. longing for aristocracy

There’s no standard of proof for someone to not be trusted with power! It can be pure vibes, or even “I think this person is likely to die soon due to health/age”.
