yass it's weird how people don't seem to understand the difference between like being fans of fictional morally bad/ambigious characters (totes fine), and the problematic issues with idolising/white-washing fictional representations of real world systems like cops
hey guys! guys! I watch the show "religiously", and reacher's not morally grey he's a SERIAL MURDERER okay?
Thta's not the stupid part of this, it's bringing that up and calling the guy odd lol
Did people really forget that ACAB is about the INSTITUTION and not necessarily individuals? And also, even if he's a cop AND individually a bad person... you're still allowed to think he's hot. Just... 🤷♂️
Being a fan of this show, I can tell you that 9/10 the cops are actually the villains in the show. Actually, so far, all the bad guys have been cops or the cops weee helping the bad guys.
Attacked on both sides. From the straights who hate seeing any LGBT re-imaginings and from the queers with a morality complex. There is truly no winning.
Are people really upset you made a comic about yourself on a date with a series character played by a hot guy? You're literally just enjoying each other's company and a plate of pasta together. lol
I LOVE it when people get all angsty over fictional characters doing random things that arent hurting anyone. Also this ship isnt even that bad. Do people not know about how obsessed people are about even the worst villains out there? I think we need to educate them on R34...
Hey, didn't Buzzfeed steal your ghost story then make a movie out of it? Weird times, weird times indeed. Anyhow, you shouldn't fuckin' cops, you should be fuckin' construction workers, they work out more, they're big and sweaty (if you're into that)
Rando: How dare you make a joke about a character that isn't entirely an upstanding citizen! You must only draw characters' what're paragon of virtue and righteousness. I'm frankly disgusted by you and think.......
As a good leftist, I would never have a crush on any bad person, least of all on any monstrous 18th century allegories for capitalism and the nobility, and their parasitic relationship with the rest of society
Yeah, it is. I have a thing with my autism that friends have called "hyperempathy" where a part of it is I can care too much about the morality in things so my gut reaction is like "why Reacher wtf" but you're just doing the things you love doing so I don't want to tell you what to do either ❤️
People forget fictional characters are just that- fictional. Not real. Back in my day, people loved The Onceler, and he’s a capitalist rich man. Like.. it’s a drawing
You would think with all the fiction passed off and accepted as reality these days in the news, people would understand fiction about... fiction. But, sure, I guess. Draw the hard line on reimagining imaginary characters.
I’ll have you know I’m only attracted to morally unambiguous good guys. I have never once found anything attractive about morally gray and/or villainous characters.
Yeah, people with little conscience typically do have an easier time. They get to forget about things that matter and convince themselves that all the images they feed into their brain don’t change them in any substantial way. They don’t have to think about much.
Thank you for teaching me that I should not wish for a large following, because then I couldn’t post a simple “I date a hot tv man” comic without getting pilloried

If Reacher from the TV show Reacher drops his arms to his sides - will they reach the floor or not when he stands up?
their buff furry avatar makes this sentiment way funnier in an "I'll fuck a meaty anthro but fucking a cop is *weird* " sort of way
That's why copaganda is effective! The protagonists are ~good~
People really get hung up on the weirdest shit.
If you switch it to #444444, Reacher immediately says, "I'm not a hobo, I'm a bindlestiff."
