This article is full of biased nonsense. For example, it states that Bill Gates set up a privately funded rival to the WHO whilst failing to acknowledge his foundation has voluntarily given the WHO $592M dollars and is its 3rd biggest funder.

What are you on about? I worked for the WHO competitor Bill helped set up. He was angry that Chris Murphy’s big data epidemiology work got shut down at WHO and wanted that work to continue. IHME is no secret and self describes as attempting to improve on WHO’s global burden of disease numbers
