Costco's unionized workers vote to authorize nationwide strike
The company was rightly praised for standing firm on the importance of DEI, but how it bargains with/treats its unionized workers is important too

Pocket and going after one of the few companies that wouldn't bend the knee to him. Teamsters get yourself a new president
May they quickly resolve this issue, because it is a bad look for Costco in the eyes of the crazy republicans.
Unions need popular support.
The only way to show a union has strayed too far, is to cross their picket line. The union is losing community cred to kiss a traitors ass.
Suspect they’ve just made a serious error.
This is about the fact that the Teamsters union betrayed President Biden after he did so much for them. I don't trust the teamsters plain and simple.
I was neutral during the Teamsters fight with Amazon on the same grounds.
Ugh. This country is so backwards. This just supports anti-union rhetoric that all they want are dues.
Dues: Yes it’s money from your pay, but you get much more in return than you contribute. Think of it like the “value” of paying for a Costco membership just to shop there. And yes…. I proudly pay for both memberships.
It's like a local delivery job only to your own stores. Trucks are loaded and unloaded by employees other than the driver.
Those is a teamsters hit job!
The parties involved will work it out.
You are relying on the goodwill of an employer instead of your rights to collectively bargain a contract.
Do you work for Costco?
So Costco should punish them and not give them a good deal?
The organised working class is the bosses' nightmare.
Make 'em scream with terror.
A) didn't read the article and
B) don't get that a rising tide lifts all boats
It's like when teachers get pissed fast food workers are asking for a raise above their wage. Ok, then fight for more too!!
When the CEO makes 262 times more than its median worker, is that equitable and fair?
Love her 🥺🙏
Particularly when it’s a company known for treating its employees well with or without a union.
Good for them.
Costco - actions speak louder than words, show that you truly value your workers as you claim you do.
O’Brian congratulated trump but didn’t endorse him
I read their demands and for the most part they’re reasonable.
I’m curious as to why you vilify them as mafia?
What does Trump have do with it?

Their membership was evenly split on the two candidates.
I'm sorry, but Democrats have not been all that friendly to Unions and workers.
Just a microcosm of the larger disenfranchised.
Not all strikes require consumers abstaining
Like the Amazon strike was timed specifically to showcase how much they’re needed to fulfill holiday orders. Which meant they wanted consumers to continue ordering
every workplace should have a union and every union should be proactive about asserting the welfare of its members. if you think you don’t need a union, you need a union.
For all of us who aren’t scabs.
So I’ll be forced to shop Walmart? WTF.
The problem most companies have is in how they treat the "Frontline" worker. There's so much evidence that when the front line is treated well the business always prospers. They might not have as large of a bottom line at the end, but the company will grow and endure.
We hold firm principles.
We want firm increased salary benefits Bith employers and employees.
We want fair wages equal proportion upon profitability of earnings between all parties concerned.
Do this and I hold my holding position.
Fail
I give sell order
Life on the big island is easier when we can shop at Costco (shopping desert for real)
The Teamsters have a lot of problems, not the least of which is O'Brien. I am concerned w/ the 85% vote, though.
2. 85% of 18,000 (teamsters) employees nationwide out of over 200,000 total employees
3. Teamsters are in trump’s back pocket and he’s calling in favors to attack Costco’s DEI
4. Costco pays well over minimum wages and benefits
(just saw the pun, not gonna change it)
