Years ago I read an article that they were struggling because the owner insisted they only hire waitresses that fit his 80s sense of beauty. No tattoos, fake blonde preferred, etc.

Meanwhile other breastaurants (sigh) that hired people of color with tattoos and piercings were doing quite well.
