No one should be jailed in this country for being political opponents of the president-elect, for doing their jobs, or for investigating an attempt to overturn an election. Following through on this would effectively mean an end to the US as a free republic. Shouldn't have to say that, but I will.

To me the question is whether a preemptive pardon — or letting Trump *try* (and fail… unless god-forbid his SCOTUS gifts him permission!) to find them guilty of anything is better for preserving democracy?
