As a former NPS employee who mourned whenever we had to kill a bear because they'd gotten too comfortable with humans and were thus dangerous to anyone who approached them (mostly due to feeding), this policy is actively dangerous to both visitors and bears alike.
I try to avoid using the same word twice in one sentence. After reading your post about bear baiting, however, I used the "f" word three times in the first sentence, then once in the second sentence, which was only two words long: "Effing A-holes."
On the plus side, this can be used against them.
Nothing stopping us from "baiting bears" onto the porches of project 2025 supporters if they put that thru successfully.
Nature is scary, nature is fierce, even if we individually are not, we can still turn that to our advantage.
Regardless of your feelings on hunting, bear baiting is lazy, cowardly, and unsportsmanlike.
There is a special hell for it’s proponents.
1) setup a barrel near a tree stand
2) fill the barrel a few times a week
3) train the bear for a few weeks
4) wait for trained bear
5) become a “real hunter”
my next meme is about how they want to repeal the antiquities act… you know, the act that created national parks, and protects them? a second trump admin will destroy national parks.
Up until dubya, rescinding a National Monument was unthinkable. Dubya was going to try to rescind Canyons of the Ancients for his oil&gas buddies but 9-11 happened before he got serious. GOP has been trying that trick ever since. (Bears Ears is oil&gas + uranium because nukular)
it beggars belief to contemplate mining a National Monument for uranium when Canada has more of it than we know what to do with. and Australia has 3x as much as we do 🤨
yes, that's what they mean. and they want to sell off the national parks, among other official policies written down in black & white. genuinely i wouldn't put any cruelty past them.
Of course they do. Public lands? Give people parks and libraries, pretty soon they’re thinking they should get healthcare too…and maybe we should take it out of the defense budget.
Need some of these for economic policies and Schedule F. This is a brilliant idea for raising awareness about these insane proposals in a digestible format!
This is fantastic. Do you have one about killing the Antiquities Act and letting them mine and drill in the parks and monuments? Maybe showing the Grand Canyon and an open pit strip mine?
My guess is they want to bring back so-called “cyanide bombs” that were finally banned by the BLM this year because they were incredibly dangerous to humans and pets, and often scattered indiscriminately near grazing areas in the hopes they’d take out a coyote or two.
wow, that sounds awful. do you have any references for that? i could create a meme about that. if that's in the rules in question, it would upset a lot of people (for good reason)
To be clear I don’t know for sure that’s what they’re talking about, but the change happened pretty recently after a lot of effort by conservationists.
that's good enough for me. recent rules are definitely something they want to roll back in general. a lot of this shit is also stuff outlawed before trump, rolled back during trump, and re-rolled back to illegal under biden
thank you!!
are you connected to conservation folks/enthusiasts?
Every meme needs to have these pieces of info as a subtitle:
(1) How many of / what percentage of people on the project were Trump staffers/involved in planning his strategies
(2) A reiteration that Project 2025 *is* an explicit iteration of their goals and ideals.
I just mean in smol font at the bottom, not as part of the meme. My impression is that ppl are trying to divorce it both from Trump and from the Republican party. Without those disclaimers, many will say it's scaremongering, IMO. That said, of COURSE it's your project/your idea-- just a thought.
I think few people are "fooled"; I think some on the right are looking for an excuse to ignore Project 2025. Denial of reality in general is a conservative mainstay now, and conservatives are repeating the Project has nothing to do with Trump or Republicans, so my guess is, it's working somewhere.
Im here to report meme the fash is good strategy. I got an animal softie with this. “That doesnt make sense. You shouldnt be allowed to hunt bears”… friend…. congratulations! You are in favor of regulation now.
this is the kind where hunters are allowed to put out food to lure bears into a shooting gallery to kill them. it also kills bears they don't shoot bc they learn to seek out human food and they get shot for safety. it is horrible
As we all know, bears are the enemy of the Manly Men of the He-Man Women Haters Club who can’t understand why they have so much trouble getting women to sleep with them and do chores around the house as is their place… so you can understand their hatred of 🐻

comically evil.

I love wildlife with all my heart.

and yes they are simply assholes.

The blatant evil, or the extreme incompetence.
Not only are these folks soulless ghouls, these plans are also f*cking stupid. Some of them literally(1) don't even make sense.
we're making tailored memes for different groups.
if you know folks/groups this will hit with… especially if they might be reluctant or lazy voters… please share it.
we need to make these facts about project 2025 spread.
i love that idea specifically

Which makes me think it’s more about revoking protections for wolves and bears.

what do you think would resonate with *your* audience?
they're really trying to fuck up medicaid and other stuff disabled people rely on (eliminate insulin caps is something they SPECIFICALLY call out)
trump won by a sliver of a margin and he lost a lot of his supporters to, you know, death, among other things.
it's the unmotivated/tired young people who believe in our values that we need
They prefer twinks. <3
anyone who wants to lure a magnificent predator to them so they can sit on their ass and shoot it is an evil loser
you know they also wanna murder the wild horses (that meme is coming in a day or two) — and that is not responsible management either
I think the messenger matters too
and yeah it absolutely does. and so does the button the messenger presses
Twin pillars of a winning electoral strategy!
they also are going to sell off the national parks (by repealing the Antiquities Act which protects them)
and loosen regulations on baby formula
and… so much more
I mentioned it to one of my curious friends the other day, and they hadn't heard much about it. Told them to Google it.
They called me to rant about stuff I hadn't even heard about.
😏
