A friend suggested I do fewer controversial politics posts and more food posts (lower my BP, lol). So here it goes. Dinner: grilled marinated t-bone steaks, roasted butternut squash with a butter/brown sugar glaze and Caesar salad. What's on your table or what's a fav meal you like to serve? 🤤

my fave meal is my samosie (it's a hybrid of two things i was craving) 'cause it comes together quickly and it uses puff pastry, which i love.
Basically, just make the filling for Haitian meat pies but add potatoes, peas, and flavors for a samosa to combine the worlds and make one big puff pastry turnover, if you will.
Make sure you check that out and swap recipes
We buy a whole chicken and piece it out, freeze the breasts for another use. It is just hubby and me so, that is more than enough. Leftovers for tomorrows lunch.
Might have to dig out the Hershey kisses I was going to put on PB cookies. Sacrifice!!!

Bold strategy
Advise, marry someone w/OCD they will prove you wrong over and over, especially when you say it might be too difficult for them to learn!!🤣 yummy
Coincidentally, my carrots and sweet potatoes are also drenched in butter and brown sugar
Someone on TV was having sloppy joes, so tomorrow......
sloppy joes
(Wear your stretchy pants!!)
Chicken, cheese, mayo & mustard mixed with cranberry sauce. I didn't have a turkey day so this was a treat for me.
Nothing orange though.
M.Jack is the go-to.
Canned Cranberry sauce.
Some lettuce, never did tomatos.
Never did sides, just pigged out on 🌮
No "recipe", just a hodgepodge my mother came up with.
Boiled chicken(frozen/def') for yr round enjoyment.
My sis says pepper jack goes well with it too. I guess you could use stuffing to hold the mayo/must sauce in better. I'm a "give me the goods only" type of gal so i don't do fluff.😂
I never skimp on the cheese btw. 😉
Baked sweet potatoes with brown sugar and crème fraîche, salad.
And also, tRumpsterfire should be in prison...
oops, sorry...
I am currently working on cleaning the kitchen
I haven't decided if I'm doing a puttanesca salad
Or Marcella hazans cabbage and smothered rice soup

Yesterday, it was marinated chicken cutlets (yes, I love chicken!), roasted Brussel sprouts and wild rice.
Tonight's menu was spiral sliced ham, sautéed broccoli with garlic, loaded baked potatoes and Hawaiian rolls. yum
Dessert-homemade pizzelles.
Cube the chicken and mix with garlic paste and white pepper.
Little oil in a very hot pan, sear the chicken without stirring or tossing until golden brown on one side. Toss to seal and remove to a bowl. Do not cook through yet.
Although yours sounds delicious as well.
My favorite thing to cook is homemade lasagna, but since we have one gluten-intolerant person in the family and another on the Atkins diet, we haven't eaten it in a while.
Have you tried honeynut squash? They are mini butternut squashes. One feeds 2, bake time about 30 mins.
Tonight I will have cod covered in mayo and breadcrumbs, seasoned with ALL the herbs, and a chard, carrot and rice dish.
Sides are sauerkraut, Mac & cheese and baked beans.
It's a spring/autumn night in NC 😉💙
We take advantage when we can.
Goetta, too!
And sauerkraut balls from Hammonds Meat Market in Fairfield. 😋 heaven!!!
It’s 6 hours later and I’m still stuffed. I think I’m good on dinner 😊
Having family in town is making me have to up my game and it’s crazy hard. Send ideas! Or better yet, send help!
