The 'big' in 'big dawg' was added circa 2019 to both bolster the complimentee's view of themself and to affirm that they are indeed, big; yoked, jacked, a Beefcake McSupreme.
It should be stated that 'big dawg' is a unisex greeting.
Thank you for the clarification, I would certainly not want to offend, disappoint, or discourage any "big dawg." And by discourage, I mean pointing out small dick energy.

"Chief" is another good one. Better than "My brother" but some can get away with "My brother", and even that's better than nothing. Most men will take even the most surface level of sign of appreciation and valuing as a desert floor will take water.
if a kind older gentleman calls me (1) bud (2) pal, or (3) young man, i am liable to ask him to play catch with me. keep baseball gloves in my trunk for this very reason
I always hope my smile and nod at random dudes helps. Idk I'm just a middle aged white woman like hello! I don't find you threatening, pleasant salutations! 🤣
There's some truth in what you're saying. There's a balancing truth that, at some point, you have to take responsibility for your own behavior. Some force in society is giving them permission to be their worst selves.
From an old guy. When I interact with men younger than me, most of them are, I address them as 'young man,' 'young fellow,' or 'my young friend,' and their responses show they are pleased to be addressed as fellow men.
I also address women with a 'thank you, mama,' or something similar.
I never know when they are going to arrive, so I have a basket filled with water bottles (and an ice pack to keep them cool) in the summer and disposable hand warmers in the winter. Not exactly environmentally friendly, but apparently very delivery person friendly. Glad to see others doing the same.

That helps too.
It's fuckin normal to talk to people about these things. It's so crazy to me that SO MANY people just never talk about the important shit
I've had maybe three dude friends that did

"Sup."

They do not get paid nearly enough for the work they do.
