Did the passenger jet collide with the helicopter or did the helicopter collide with the passenger jet? The video looks like the latter. Words make a difference. Was the helicopter military? Is the narrative being controlled by trump?
It's not about if this is that action's fault, it's that clearly, things are already bad, for obvious regions, and freezing hiring and funding is not the solution. It will get worse.
President Donald Trump has moved quickly to remake the Department of Homeland Security by firing the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and Coast Guard before their terms are up while eliminating all the members of a key aviation security advisory group.
- Wild Fires in California
- Arctic Blast on Inauguration
- Snow in Florida
- Earthquake in New Hampshire
- Bird Flu Epidemic
- First commercial plane crash in 16 years
Bird flu has exist since Obama, Ca catches fire all the time, Kennedy had a colder inauguration. There been earthquakes in nj ny and Washington. The northeast is on a fault line that sometimes gets moving
Well F-35 crashed on take off yesterday. And in 2023 there were 72 people killed in a plane accident in flight. In 2022 there was more accidents but few fatalities from those accidents since they were taxi way accidents wing clip or hitting poles
One of the elements of proving causation, best I can remember, is proximity in time. Safety People Fired on Tuesday; fatal crash in less than 48 hours.
It really doesn’t get much more proximate in time than that.
Unless they were the Wednesdays night shift at the airport or the route master of the helicopter… “safety people” would not have prevented a black helicopter getting lost in the visibility blackout of a landing jet,the jet literally bonks the helicopter from above
Ya, cause a plane with flashing lights right in front of you, landing at an airport right in front of you, would be something you wouldn't be looking out for? There were 3 of them on the helicopter. They saw it.
Oh I wish it was trumps carcass polluting the Potomac, not innocent souls killed by his dismantling of the FAA safety committee, the chaos he and his metastases instigated

If it happened during Trump’s term in office, he’s responsible. Commander in Chief. If he was any kind of man he would accept responsibility. Being the spineless weasel that he is, he will find someone else to blame.
If Biden had fired everyone in charge of making sure this doesn't happen, and then 8 days later it happened, he would have been impeached just for the optics alone. And rightfully so. We need to hold Trump to the same standard.
I remember they talked about gutting the FAA the last time. I guess they figure this won't hurt any of the rich people with private planes. Do they have their own version of the FAA???

thinking about several Air Crash Investigation episodes where they draw connections between (financial, political, organisational) instability in a company or nation, and ensuing negative air safety outcomes
It appears, at least for now, the DC police helicopter flew into the jet as they were on a landing approach. Appears jet was struck on the right side or the back.
Blackhawk on training exercise flew into path of airliner coming in on landing path.
tRump inserting himself demanding to know how this can happen., is it really his business
So your theory is, that two helicopter pilots committed suicide and killed a crew chief in order to kill somebody in a commercial flight in the middle of DC?
It's disappointing that President Trump's overeager cuts to the FAA directly led to tonight's unnecessary deaths. Policies signed by this president have endangered soldiers and families. We need a safer America than this administration cares to ensure.
Yes - the only way Magats will hear anything is if we use their words and fill the gap this opened up b/c after all-this didn’t involve air vehicles full of Dems - that’s statistically not possible. They will be rightfully angry and looking for someone to blame too.
i used to work at Washington National. now Reagan. never saw one helicopter allowed in flight path. outgoing or incoming. air traffic control is going to be the hotspot. what was a military aircraft doing there? very odd.
Their poor families.. I wonder if anyone ever will really know what happened. Cause Drunky McDrunkerson did not seem bothered about the crash. His first priority was to tell everyone how well he's doing in his effort to create concentration camps at Gitmo. How is this reality??
I doubt we’ll ever know the truth. However, the helicopter had no business being in the area of planes landing and taking off. What a tragedy 💔
The 🍊💩🤡 couldn’t care less about the families 😭
Based on rewinding my Flight Radar app, there was no helicopter nearby on the radar at the time of the crash. The plane was captured on the radar as normal.
It wasn’t 🍊🤡. Apparently he’s in Florida. I don’t remember who but it was confirmed that only personnel was on board the helicopter. Watching it replay on CNN - it’s amazing how long the helicopter was flying towards the plane and didn’t try to change path.
It’s weird that the two most relevant cabinet members to the tragedy are former Fox News airheads: Hegseth (Army chopper) & Duffy (DOT/airline regulator). And yet has either one of the TV-loving dudes said a word about this tragedy on camera?
It’s strange. And that too from a guy who is supposed to lead the military in the event of a national security incident no matter the time of day, no matter where he is.

Military helicopters are often enough around there down the middle of the Potomac or crossing it. ATC tower at DCA communicates with both the airliners and nearby helicopters.
My guess is that the Army helicopter crew got confused over two different planes using DCA at around the same time.
when i was there in the early to mid 80's; no one mentioned a military base across the Potomac from Washington National. i mean; no one. i never even spotted a heli the whole time i worked there. i worked the 3:30pm to midnight shift. i wasnt there long; but long enough. just crazy.
I was thinking it was going to be a small, personal jet. But it's a medium sized jet. 60-80 passengers if it's kitted for commercial flight, fewer if it's private. I'm not seeing anything with numbers yet.
Also, the airplane was on final approach to land. They wouldn’t have cleared them to land if it wasn’t safe. The helicopter must have done something wrong
Well I abhore Hegseth, but at this moment I doubt he can be held responsible, but it should call into question Trump's gutting two days ago of the Aviation Safety Advisory Committee.
You've probably figured it out by now, but ICYMI, last week Trump fired the head of the TSA, fired the entire Aviation Security Advisory Committee, fired top 100 FAA security officers, froze hiring of air traffic controllers and others (that weren't loyal enough) to find new jobs or be fired.
I need to rephrase. This is a tragedy. Actual facts need to be laid out. Blaming is wrong. But the GoP doesn’t care, so please take them to task for their irresponsibility in this matter. Big middle finger.
From the video that I saw, the helicopter should have had a clear visual of the approaching plane on the pilot’s 10 o’clock position 10-15 seconds before collision. The Blackhawk has very good visual capabilities for the pilot and crew.
FAA STATEMENT: A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33 at Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. local time. PSA was operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines. It departed from Wichita, Kansas.
Did Djt & Pete Hegseth already order a hit? Looks like the military helicopter hit a passenger jet that has a pre-determined flight path. That AA flight has been flying that route for a year.

Reports indicate that 4 people have been rescued from the freezing waters.

But what reason do we have to believe that?

Remove safeguards, people die.
Cut off things that our nation counts on to survive, people die.
Fire professionals for no reason who protect our nation from harm, people die.
As we have said until we were blue in the face, the biggest threat to our nation is Chump!
shhhhiiiiiittttttttttt
Who was on the jet? 🤔
(I was not/am not being dismissive of this horror/tragedy at all - just a w t a f kind of moment.).

Serious it looked like the helicopter was a missile aiming at the jet.
Scary.
Or maybe Hegseth got drunk and stole the keys to a Blackhawk?
A jet did NOT crash into a helicopter. -eof
I heard it in BlueSky first from you Phil.
Tragic 😢
A flash and the plane pitches over 180 and into the water. That's a hard impact and likely killed everyone.
Go hug someone you care about if you are able.
I hope you have someone to lean on and hug you too friend 🥹
