This is great work! You should consider making your dataset available for researchers.

It should be added that there is very little evidence from media studies of viewing media content directly influences someone's opinion. We've known since the 1950s that it requires in-group interaction on top.

Hosts don’t style themselves as political-- guests are primarily comedians, influencers, athletes, musicians, but they booked more politicians and pundits before the election and these guests disproportionately garner the most views (30% of top 30) despite making up 1/8 of the 900+ guests.

YouTube collects all of that data. Channel owners can see country, age group, gender, etc.. It shows creators what else viewers watch. The researchers could have included the demographic data, if they could access it. There’s the problem, primary sources are now obfuscated from researchers.

Sorry, perhaps I misunderstood your original question. Yes, we cannot get data from the advertisers, but you can get data on how long a person views an ad before skipping. It takes a willing jump into extrapolation, but you can find a connection (using it loosely) between viewers and ad watching.
