The doubt is of the storytelling. No one's doubting that.tue molecules we're found, it the sensationalist leap to "there must be life" that is the problem. I'm willing to blame the article author more than the scientists at this point.

I’m a strong believer in there being life on other planets. I suspect it will end up being a lot more common than we might expect. I’m a lot less convinced that any of them will have technological civilizations. You only have to look around us to see civilizations don’t last that long.
