I don't know about the tech details, but the details in the post you shared about how watsapp and signal are linked are a bit misleading. The people who founded watsapp sold it to meta, and then went on to found Signal to be more secure and ethical because of how they were screwed over by meta.

I've only heard about that recently. Like they deliberately offer formula to new moms in developing nations abroad with the intent to only 'give' them enough for their own milk to stop producing. Forcing them to buy the more expensive formula....right?
