You don't need a fancy seed tray to start seeds. I bought a set of new trays a few years ago, but as they start to break, i need to rethink my plan. Recycled containers do just as well, keep trash out of the landfill, and if you use paper, it reduces the amount of microplastics in your soil.

Just as a note, all my seed this season has been purchased from Denali Seed Company, which is a local experiemtnal farm that sells cold hardy varieties that I need in Alaska. Highly recommend for cold climate gardeners. Burpee varieties ain't shit up here.
