Absolutely - but inability to breastfeed is not that common and if we had formula for folks who couldn’t breastfeed, the numbers would be far fewer, the wealth generated considerable less, and the quality of the formula would be much easier to monitor for Cronobacter and Salmonella and contaminants

Inability to breastfeed is far more common than you think. There is no evidence that a decrease in demand would somehow magically make the quality go up. Instead of shaming mothers for not breastfeeding, focus on shaming companies for cutting corners and putting babies lives at risk.

I’m in this bind (pregnant, want to stockpile), but you can’t anticipate how your baby will respond to any given formula. It can be a process to find one that works and by that time it may be too late.

I would stockpile like mad if I knew what formula to buy though.
