I don’t know if they usually use ceilings under approach or it’s literally approach ATC calling out crossings which seems like a terrible plan. Doesn’t seem to be too much to just fly over airport at altitude.

It turns out the AA jet was on its 400-foot elevation landing as planned, and the US Army Blackhawk was flying TOO HIGH above their approved elevation. One of the pilots was my sons EmbryRiddle alumni .. and his gf lost her uncle on the AA jet. This is insane 😳

They announced at the 7:30 a.m. press conference it's been changed from a rescue to a recovery operation. Plane crashed into waist deep water but there was ice and water temp in the 30's. Can't survive long in those conditions if you survived the initial impact.
