My love of Cap goes back to watching the Shazam! show as a kid in the 70s so don't interpret this to think I am a fan of the most recent actor to play the role.

I saw the serial with Tom Tyler at a revival house in NYC in the early 80s.
One chapter a week, as it was meant to be seen!
Republic Pictures knew how to do action and stunts like nobody else!
And Tom Tyler was an impressive (if humorless) Captain Marvel!
I have the box set in the rear of the picture. It stands proudly on a shelf in my bedroom. First discovered the Big Red Cheese with DC's reissues in the 70's. Loved the character ever since.
Used to have a customer who had written for that show and used to tell me about stuff they weren't allowed to do (like have Cap tear up a telephone pole to smack the bad guy..."too violent" and "destroying public property" were no-nos!).
Aside from being at the total opposite end of the spectrum from him in my beliefs, I'm also trying to head off a bunch of "but did you know about Zachary Levi??" comments.
Sad that it has to be so overtly stated for a character around since the '40s
And it's not likely Gunn will do anything with the property for awhile because of it, though I think they could make a fantastic Shazam Family Max show

Enjoy the work.
That’s what I do with Frank Miller, Roman Polanski, and Bill Cosby.
