I got the box set of the first 3 volumes (plus a later volume) during their November sale. Can just spend so much time looking at each panel. Good story, but the art is spectacular.
I have all of the Hal Foster ones. I think they are a must have for anyone interested in illustration. Many early Jack Kirby panel were lifted directly from Foster’s work.
The illustration is so detailed I'm sucked in to geeking about the seige tactics - why is there a gaping hole in that tower and no one going in? Then I stop myself and say, dang, what a drawing.
That one’s my son’s fault. They start talking like Gen Z’s around me and I inevitably end up picking up phrases designed for far younger people than I.
