I HAVE this game!!! Always lost. I couldn't budget for shit and always let the ghosts escape. Then the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man would tap dance all over the city!!
First game I ever played on my C64. Never made it past stay puft (I may have had one success in my entire life). First time playing it on an Atari ST I beat the game.
Just looking at this playthrough gives me PTSD flashbacks.
This game was indeed Nintendo Hard. Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man dancing around in front of the entrance at the end was hilarious and stupidly difficult at the same time.
I just has some flashbacks of sounds, smells, a creaky wood floor, my mom's ivy plants, a ford escort, and a '87 Topps Jose Conseco rookie card (Go Twins!)
Got my kids a C64 (used) and dialup internet service in '89.
Played "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego" "Frogger" "Oregon Trail" etc on that thing. I went on the bbs chats. It was awesome. I think it is still in a box in the attic.
had this on my Atari XE computer with the disk drive attachment! this, EAβs Racing Destruction Set, and EAβs Mail Order Monsters were peak gaming at the time (imo)
Comments
(along with 'Stay a while, stay FOREVER!' from Impossible Mission)

Speaking from MILD experience...
But he also designed some really shitty stuff.
