I'm always late taking my tree down because my cat loves sleeping under it. She actually gets excited when we dig it out of the attic each year. Part of me wants to leave it up all the time, but that way leads to madness.

My city will take trees at the transfer station no charge till the end of the month, and really as far as I can tell there's no end till when you dispose of them curbside as long as you cut them up and place them in the yard waste bin.
