Trump was fooled and Russia freedbthenworng teacher who had medical cannabis in Russia. He traded this person for a cyber criminal. Trump is freeing all the criminals. What a deal.
And they're MAGA base, and ironically, call the left the "Communists" all the time. Every projection is a confession with MAGAts. ZERO Americans should be doing business there.
Right? Who are these people? My favorite general loves to visit his old friends, but I don't see him running to Moscow since before they invaded Ukraine. Stop making yourself a target people!
There are some Americans who definitely SHOULD continue to go to Russia (and not return). Tucker Carlson, Tulsi Gabbard, Donald Trump are a few that come to mind...
In the '60's we weren't allowed to travel to certain countries and at times to fly without escorts because of my father's job. I have turned down free trips to adversarial nations simply because of Cold War sensibilities.
We have abandoned common sense. Not that I'm the first to say that.
I’ve wondered since Ukraine, why NATO countries didn’t cut off all travel into or out of Russia, e cept humanitarian aid.
The Russians shouldn’t be given visas for travel, work or student studies into any NATO country.
A lot of elite Russians have vacation homes in Europe & USA
But where else can Americans experience the harsh beauty of frigid life in a Siberian gulag (tropical sweltering in a Guantanamo camp just isn't the same)?
Visit Russia now, see the sights, enjoy the warm weather and beaches. Bring along some weed to share with people you meet as a gesture of good will and kindness.
Space is available now. Also don't forget the MAGA hats to show off where you are from.
Yes, load them up on SpaceX and let them feel the rattle that many of us are as those launches happen - take them to their new mother country. Perfect idea
Stop going to countries that will imprison you for profit or a political bargaining chip. You want China? Ok, go to Chinatown in Cali somewhere. You can visit any country you want here in the U.S.
💯 if you have a media background, you should be careful about where you travel to. Research the location, always. If you're a teacher, photographer, or IT- same thing
Places you aren't safe:
Russia, North Korea, China, Israel, Middle East, Cuba, and Sudan.
Back when I was in college, my International Business prof told us to not do business with Russia, period. They only conform to a contract as along as it suits them. They seize assets and kick you out to their gain. This is before they started kidnapping. Stay away from them!
Don't know about that. What had the US done leading up to 9/11 that it could have done differently from the perspective of the Islamists who perpetrated the attach? In the years before 9/11, the US intervened on the side of Muslims in Kosovo, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. What could Gore have done?
The FAA could have had better screening procedures for new flight students in place.
The terrorists that flew the planes didn’t care about the lessons for landing them.
In crystal clear hindsight, Airport screening procedures might have been tightened quickly given adequate priority in the month after the Aug 6, 2021 daily intelligence briefing with an article entitled "Bin Laden determined to strike in U.S."
You mean, "Imagine if the SCOTUS of FLORIDA hadn't HANDED GW the Win," right? We haven't had a legitimate GOP win since then. Possibly, never. They're so corrupt, nothing is beneath their evil machinations.
Valid. Technically since Jefferson's win, since he literally was only given enough due to the electoral college being boosted by counting plantation owners weighted more due to slavery. We've made so many of the exact same mistakes over and over... 😭
Sure, but Al Gore would have read his daily briefs and perhaps 9/11 could have been avoided. Even if 9/11 happens, the likelihood that Gore invades Iraq seems slim.
Seems we need an occasional kick in the head to wake people up.
Like when a new stop sign is installed because the death count is unacceptably high or frequent.
As far as I can recall, Clinton approved an op to take out Bin Laden. The Bush's and the Bin Ladens had been old allies from the rebel days, and from what I remember, stopped pursuing it when he took office.
Regardless, the response to 9/11 likely would have looked way different.
My daughter spent 3 years in Russia: 1 as a Fulbright scholar and 2 teaching at universities. She made many friends + her students were very curious about the US.After she left,Putin clamped down on Russian society. She no longer has friends there, mostly because of the success of Putin’s propaganda
Seriously. We need to start treating Russia as the terroristic mafia failstate it is.
I'd lost sympathy for these hostages since before Griner got snatched. Russia was a murderous, genocidal regime long before the West stopped giving them a complete pass.
My wife is Russian. Everybody with a brain knows that if you're a Russian living abroad, especially with U.S. citizenship, or you're an American, you DO NOT go to Russia. Anyone who does is a patent idiot.
Used to go B often when I lived in the San Joaquin Valley. Great music scene. Had a girlfriend whose brother had a pretty successful Bakersfield style band and spent many a weekend night at honky tonks. Good times, but I'm glad I don't live in the valley now.
IKR!! What the hell are people thinking or I guess they’re not thinking. “Oh let’s go visit russia coz we’re mericans and in russia we rule” russia are arrogant thugs. There’s so many stupid people I’m exhausted.
As a sales manager, the aluminum industry was one of my lucrative markets. Met an executive at a show in the 90’s. He got a position in a smelter in Russia. Received a caller who demanded payoffs. He told guy to buzz off. Guy pulls out a gun and fires shots. Into wall. Back to states next plane
He was lucky... The chechens back in the day (1990s) wouldn't take no for an answer near where I lived, shop owner said no, held him down and cut off his hand with a axe, . no one else said no. To get an interview in mayor Luzhkov office was re projects underling guy first payment US $100000.00
yep but sometimes the bodyguards were/ could be suspect as well... it was not the best of times.. and it sgoing back to that way as the war has upset the status quo
Trump is too stupid to understand that if Russia frees one innocent person and we free a horrible criminal, he'll just seize another innocent American.
YES! I have no sympathy for US citizens who ignore warnings & travel to countries where there is no expectation of the rule of law, then expect the US government to mobilize to gain their freedom. Worse when ignorance or arrogance has them actually bringing contraband into those countries.
Hard to believe any sane citizen would take any drugs into Russia. One wonders if any are sleeper agents that Putin no longer needs in the USA? Order them to travel with some pot knowing he can do a swap for someone he wants back???
Said it days ago - why would anyone in their right mind want to go to russia when they could become one of putin's pawns! The "red" flags have been up for years; if ppl. go - it should be at their own risk!
I'm an archaeology nerd and I want to see some kurgans before I die, but that probably won't be happening if geopolitics stay the same. And the old fashioned "Grand Tour" is long gone.
Same applies to countries like Belarus, Iran and other countries, notorious for hostage diplomacy, and for other "Westerners", read there was recently a Swiss man, who under suspicious circumstances died in Iran.
You might have that wrong, Mr. Nichols. I think every Maga supporter should have to go to Russia and live like the average Russian for a week or two. Maybe then they could remove their head from Putin’s ass.
This is some sort of common sense that seems to be missing. If you want to go to Russia, just don’t. There’s no magic that will exonerate you from being sent to a gulag.
where's the fun in that TRUMP's GIRLFRIENDS with PUTAN he has to send people so he can turn around and rattle his fake saber while pretending he's a hero when he's nothing but a loser
We visited Russia in 2010, a two-day stop on a Scandinavia cruise. We were so glad to get back on that shop and sail away. The oppression hangs in the air, everywhere you go. For an American, it was palpable and stifling.

Maybe it is a big if to assume the marijuana possession is real.
But if real (and it was with the basketball player) it would be crime entering the US too. And Canada. And Europe.

I walked out telling my daughter - he has no idea that now would be a terrible time to visit Russia as your first trip abroad!
Places you aren't safe:
Russia, North Korea, China, Israel, Middle East, Cuba, and Sudan.
Be cautious. Be smart.
Travel safely.
“Then don’t do that”.

Let them sit in jail!
Amerika and Europe should also not accept such person for a prisoner change
Those people are anyway traitors so Russia can keep them 🤷🏻♀️
So true and I have said the same on occasion.
From now on, no American in Russia should receive any help.
Why the fuck would anyone want to go there is beyond my understanding.
With Putin and the Criminal Russian Oligarchs! (That term now fits the republiCON trump whores)

You’ll also be able to visit Ukraine as part of the Russian military.
it's a no-brainer.
I know right, you think people would definitely not go to Russia!
