It's not just the role of the media to inform (or educate) us about the EU. The EU itself has long been very poor at explaining what it is, what it does (and how), and its limits. UK MEPs overall have not been great at communicating about their work. And finally schools...

Thing is with the US election & Brexit you could get the relevant information from the media and yes more detailed information elsewhere but at some point you have to blame the voters for what they voted for. I will have zero sympathy for any trump voter who gets negatively effected by him
