Can I go on record with “99% of de minimis shipments are not what the rule was intended for and it’s terrible for the environment and so it should be gotten rid of”?

A country can live with bad leadership. Companies can plan for the future. But haphazard and arbitrary actions can't be planned for.
Also agree with you that spending the money and time to do the Right Thing is not on the menu this year

I am a mom & pop e-commerce shop in Canada. 50% of our business comes from the US. Close to 100% of that qualify under the de minimis rule. 100% of our shipments to USA are legit under that rule.
This hurts us and our customers.
(plus we use only reclaimed packaging!)

Of course, all these tariff wars will basically mean that Americans are just going to buy less imported stuff, and instead of buying American they are just gonna go without.
