Probably Zelda. Actually, no I think I like Mario 3 more. You know what, Mega Man is pretty good too. Oh and so is Final Fantasy. Wait, you know what, Tetris. It's Tetris.
nes tetris cuz i literally cant put it down when i start playing it, theres something about it i just really like and im so sad it never got onto switch online as i like it more than og gameboy tetris (even though ive played insane amounts of both)
I’d broadly agree with the majority, but I am also a big fan of Rad Racer and think it deserves to be talked about more. Super fun! And Duck Hunt and Hogan‘s Alley never get old for me
I tried to find a deeper cut, but Mother has to be my favorite. JRPG, set in late 1980s earth, story about kids saving the world from paranormal aliens. Its just so special.
Mega Man 6! Not only is it peak mega man but for an NES game it’s really impressive with how much it pushed the system’s limitations! Absolutely jaw droppingly gorgeous art direction.
this is immensely tough bc i feel like saying mother 1 is too easy
i rly like balloon fight and punch out, but hmmm
punch out is like The easy pick up and play quit when youre angry pick it back up thing that evokes an arcade feel tht rules
Granted, I’m a bit young to have much experience with many titles, but I’m tuned in to the classic Tetris community and really love that specific version of Tetris.
The first Mother game is easily my favourite. It has its issues for sure but it still means a lot to me. The first two Mother games completely changed the way I viewed art when I was 13.
My personal favorite NES would have to be Super Mario Bros 3. Just cause of how much power up there are in the game, the music being an instant classic, fun level designs, and it has a balance gameplay between being easy and being a bit difficult. Overall, 9.5 out of 10 :)
StarTropics! You use a YoYo as a weapon, and I remember it came with a little 'letter' that at some point you were instructed to run under hot water to reveal a code and that was awesome!
Without a doubt in my mind, Metal Storm. Rented it every weekend for a couple months as a kid (then Santa brought it for Christmas). Super stoked it kinda saw a resurgence because of people like Happy Video Game Nerd and Limited Run doing a physical copy.
Final Fantasy. The 8-Bit Final Fantasy 3 was even better but not officially released in the US until many years later is part of a relaunch.
Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse would be my second choice.
Probably the original Mother/Earthbound Beginnings whichever you want to call it. But I don’t feel like NES games hold up nearly as well as SNES games do in the long run
Imma have to be fairly unoriginal and say Legend of Zelda, but there were so many great games on the NES, one of the crazy ones was Base Wars, it was baseball with robots and you had to have a street fighter type battle for the bases😁
i can't explain why Tengen's Ms. Pac-Man is one i always go back to. sounds like nails on a chalkboard but i'd rather play it than its 16-bit counterparts or even the speedup hacked arcade version tbh
Still a sucker for Mega Man 2 and 3. But there are so many great choices. I recently finished Startropics 1 and 2, along with Kirby's Adventure. All solid games.

Wario's Woods.
I'll pick the legend of Zelda. That gold cartridge was just something else to me as a kid.
Castlevania I and III are also up there
i rly like balloon fight and punch out, but hmmm

Final Fantasy
Mike Tyson Punch Out
Mario Golf
Kirby's Adventure is a close second
I'd say Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros. 2, I've been enjoying both versions
Bases Loaded II
Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing
SMB3
Tecmo Bowl
Double Dribble
Excitebike
but if Former Dawn comes out it miiiight just change
Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse would be my second choice.
Also also there is this seaame street game that has really good music and a ferris wheel of letters
But I am also a big fan of Excite Bike and Lifeforce.
Super Mario Bros 3
Mega Man 2
Castlevania 3
But it really was just the best…
