"The Hundred Girlfriends Who Really Really Love You" has been interesting, wholesome, and funny. A lot of tropes of regular harem anime are either subverted or dodged entirely.

Plus, it's also a polyam-focused story so we don't have to deal with "love triangles".

To me Madoka Magica is in specific about Patriarchy and how young girls are exploited into cycles of misery that are seen as inherent and inescapable from the very process of maturing into a woman…Obviously, such cycle also happens to be inherent to capitalism and how it works.
