Keir Starmer's spokespeople currently refusing to comment on Trump and Vance's attack on Zelensky today, despite almost all other European leaders rallying to publicly support the Ukrainian leader

Sorry but I'm not buying into these smoke and mirror political theatrics. They're #allinthesameclub and using their msm to deflect and distort what's really going on. #justsaying
He's worried he's going to be accused of flip-flopping after cozying up yesterday. I get it, and there is a path through it if he's careful but radio silence isn't it.
Ostensibly there's an opportunity to be had in terms of being the international mediator here.
Well I wouldn't want some random commenting on this. Time for calm heads, comment in haste, repent at leisure. I know what we all would like to say to Trump and Vance, but looking at the bigger picture would that actually help anyone right now?
He has organised a meeting of European leaders tomorrow. Perhaps this is the time to act and not to talk? or type stuff in social media?
You know what Adam? I am going to unsubscribe from Byline Times. I was idealistic, I thought you stood for something Now I see you only like to stir the sh*t
I get we all want some kind of immediate comeuppance, a hellfire condemnation at the very least ... but sometimes a transgression is so blatant & heinous that the only response can be to walk away. Whole of Europe knows its over with America, no hystrionics needed, they showed their hand, end of. 💔
Old rubber spine is struggling. "When you do stand for something, you will fall for anything" And starmer hasn't got anything solid to anchor anything he does. So always and the mercy of the tide
Z is in London this weekend, they don't need to comment now, they just need to support Ukraine in terms that exceed those they may have used with Trump.
I suspect the decision that Starmer isn’t commenting just now was not solely his. The European leaders may have chosen him to play a very taxing role.
Which needs playing in the short term, like it or not.
Statements about how great Trump is and how the US are our closest and best allies. No fucking use to Ukraine at all and has anyone with a single progressive cell in their bodies reaching for a sick bag
A serious leader would have made a statement in support of Zelenskyy, immediately. Not doing so breaks ranks, fails to stand up to a dangerous bully. Is it a symbolic act to do so? Yes. That is what is required.
Exactly. People are bizarre wanting instantaneous tweets, on such important things. What will help a situation, a meaningless platitude on social media or actually talking to the key people?
Exactly this. Starmer has never been clear on anything you want him to be clear on, that's his entire game plan for navigating any thorny issue. Why would he now come out and take a public dookie by actively attacking Trump? Sidestep, it's what he does but actually works here.
I think you misunderstand the International situation and the present moment in light of this press conference. There is nothing more usefully to be said on this topic between us, I think, so I will bid you a good evening.
Let's not forget our own soviet agent just waiting to be the voice of UK with DT.
If Starmer goes full hostile, there are quite a few sellouts just gagging to be DTs bootlicking sycophant and selling off the UK to the US as a subjugated state.
The picture is much bigger than a simple media post.
FFS 30 hours ago he said Britain stands with Ukraine and Russia is the aggressor in the White House to Trumps face.
We need to Get over our need for a useless social media post. Achieves nothing. This is a serious time.
Trump tends to deny what he said yesterday. Maybe they're waiting for that. But honestly, F Trump. F Putin. F America and the special relationship. America is a Russian outpost now. Until the American people oust him, we should remove all support for America. It'll hurt. But so will ww3
If he says anything the anti Starmer lobby will say it’s not enough/ too weak etc etc .. let’s wait and see what action he takes over the weekend.. actions not words !
“The Prime Minister has tonight spoken to both President Trump and President Zelenskyy.
“He retains his unwavering support for Ukraine and is playing his part to find a path forward to a lasting peace, based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine...."
No he’s trying to keep communications open to be able to get the best outcome for Ukraine which is what we all want and which is the aim of this whole game they’re having to play.
I’d imagine it’s also what both the EU and Zelensky want too. I can’t imagine that Starmer isn’t in regular communication with a number of EU leaders, and that there hasn’t been constant strategising over what our position will be within all of this
The thing is, whatever ire is coming from Trump, will be coming regardless at some
point. If he’s unprincipled, he’ll be unprincipled and STILL be punished by Trump. This is how it ALWAYS goes.
No need to rush and post a response. Thats taking the bait and what would that actually achieve apart virtue signalling. This is all part of a play by the USA, don’t engage. There’s a meeting on Sunday to concentrate on and it will be far better to come out of that with a solid consensus position.
There should be no need for Keir Starmer's "spokespeople" to comment on Trump and Vance's attack on President Zelensky.Starmer should be personally speaking out directly, loudly and clearly.
More history Trump doesn't know anything about... #trumpisthenew911
Since Russia attacked the Ukraine many have wondered why Ukraine relinquished control of the nuclear weapons it inherited after the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 and whether that decision was a mistake.
Maybe (who knows) he's keeping his powder dry for 24 hours until tomorrow's meeting of leaders is out of the way. Quiet diplomacy behind closed doors makes crap TV, but for decades it's been more effective than shouting at other the side.
He's a spineless coward. The UK has gone from fraudster rich entitled thieves, to spineless cowards too scared to do whats right. When will the UK get a govt that actual governs. Is it any wonder us Scots want to walk away?

There is a very clear, correct position this evening.
And it is very different from the position we were in this morning.
When situations change it is right to change course.
You know what Adam? I am going to unsubscribe from Byline Times. I was idealistic, I thought you stood for something Now I see you only like to stir the sh*t
Ignoring this make him a bystander and us all vulnerable.
Like a serious leader in a time of crisis,
But keep on bitching because a performative statement hasn’t been made when there’s been plenty of statements all week
Starmer can’t play both sides. To ally with Trump is to ally with Putin
All European leaders will still talk to the US and will talk to Trump.
Diplomacy is still required.
We’re still very far from “pick a side” at the moment.
There can only be one side to pick. Trump & Putin, or liberal democracy. I can pick my side, can you?
Which needs playing in the short term, like it or not.
That’s the most important reaction.
He has clearly stated his support for Ukraine over, and over, and over again.
So why rush to attacking our PM for not sending a tweet/statement out immediately.
Show some fucking support

We left the US on good terms.
At the moment we need to use diplomacy to try to defuse and deescalate.
If Starmer goes full hostile, there are quite a few sellouts just gagging to be DTs bootlicking sycophant and selling off the UK to the US as a subjugated state.

A spine and a pair of balls.
If found, return to 10 Downing Street.

He's trying to play both sides because the UK is not in the EU
(And because he's shit scared of the right wing)
.. any moment now …

Appeaser!
Not a leader!
... took too long.
