I mean, snipes are real birds. And you can hunt them. It's where the word sniper comes from. The practical joke came later. So I'm not sure this is an AI hallucination.

snipes are real birds, but the term "snipe hunt" has had a very, very specific connotation for almost 200 years now. I wouldn't have blinked if it referenced both the bird and the colloquialism, but it sure went all in on the bird.
