That seems not to be the case with most media. Just yesterday I complained about a German public medium mis-quoting its own linked article, which again misquotes the source linked in it. 🤷

I like to imagine that there is some person (in my mind, they are always an underpaid recent grad trying to break into journalism) in charge of adding in the links who disagrees with the article and is quietly smug that the links straight up disagree with it.

They rely on ignorant readers who often react just on the headline - let alone read the entire article and dig deep or fact-check.
