1. In a devastating ruling, the traditionally progressive 9th Circuit Court has allowed Idaho's bathroom ban for trans students.
They rule that "common experience" is enough to assume trans students are a harm to cis ones.
The panel was majority Dem appointed.

What the fuck!?
There's STILL no threat. Hormone therapy changes the body in significant ways. Doesn't matter what's in the pants. This is all just bigotry at full tilt.
Do we hear large, bossy complaints re: botox? Do we hear yowls of protest about nose jobs?
I rest my case. Now. I've been on here 4 about 20 min. & am starting 2 feel owly, so I shall retreat into something that doesn't trigger me. ☮️
They KNOW that.
That would/will happen in the adult world, too. Sexual assault, violent assault, BOTH at once.
Everything the government is doing seems to be about enabling rape, honestly.
Just two weeks ago, every Senator and all but ten Representatives supported trans people against an anti-trans misogynistic sports bill.
Don't confuse the 5% with the 95%.
But yeah, it is troubling.
When I was in high school, suspected gay students were assaulted in the bathrooms.
I can only imagine how a trans student is abused.
An en banc would probably reverse this.
What’s worse is this looks like a very novel argument that could be read to actually mandate discrimination against trans people, not just permit it.
This isn’t just letting our rights decay, it’s actively dynamiting them
"It stated that 'not exposing students to the unclothed bodies of students of the opposite sex, and protecting students from having to expose their own unclothed bodies to students of the opposite sex' justifies barring transgender students from locker rooms, changing […]
You can't always know the biases.
See also Newsom's heel-turn.
But the vast majority of the Democratic party is standing up for trans civil rights.
Buddy, not even the TRANS WOMAN is standing up for trans rights.

I can't overstate how normalized that kind of behavior was.
The ruling prioritizes cisgender students’ “privacy concerns” over the harm faced by transgender students, effectively stripping them of Title IX protections.
Some 60 something straight white Christian lady "yeah but I am"
Fucking awful.
Now ask if trans people are being attacked in bathrooms?
This ruling is based on nothing and will lead to women and girls being further harassed.
What the fuck is that supposed to even mean? 😓
I'm not okay with that.
This could also be a strategic way to get a circuit split in an effort to get it before SCOTUS.

isn't posting a lot but is also a musher and someone I love.
Maybe the perpetrator(s) face legal consequences but the facility/wherever you are is off the hook.
Mandatory discrimination.

Oh. Right.

Unclothed?? When was the last time you were looking at someone doing their business?
Completely ridiculous.
In all my years, I've never needed any kind of protection from the trans community. This type of dog whistle ruling makes me so mad. 😡🤬
Other kids of the same sex looking to fuck with me because I was the unpopular weird kid sure did back in school though!
this is all beyond ridiculous.
all this ruling does is put more people at risk, cis & trans alike.
How exactly is my privacy being protected *from other cis people* by this
Don't mistake the 5% for the 95%.
Every Senator and all but ten Representatives stood against the anti-trans bill in Congress this month.
>criminal record
>goes in principal's office
>suspended
Welp, the students have no other choice but to do the one with the lesser punishment.
It won't be long before this anti-T backsliding gets to the L and the G, along with the Q, the I and all of the other letters. As an intersex lesbian, I know that if we don't all hang together, we will certainly hang separately.
But blaming 95% of Democrats for the transphobic 5% is misleading, and what Jennifer was doing.
It's also what you'd expect someone who was working to disempower trans allies would do.
