I don't think you quite understand how many countries' resources and arable land are entirely controlled by US companies, how many bases the US has in them, and how it uses that to keep control of those resources with sanctions (economic warfare to enforce starvation), coups, terrorism, and invasion
China, by comparison is practically isolationist. It invests in a lot of countries and keeps ownership of the infrastructure it funds, but that's a different beast entirely. They don't have anywhere near the military and economic control needed to do the playbook the US uses, ie. the empire playbook
China's domestic economy (GDP is a p flawed measure but w/ever) is indeed catching up, but the USA's should also include all the cheap/free labour and resources it extracts from every continent. And also a huge part of China's economy is in essentially functioning as the USA's manufacturing sector.
I agree with you entirely. China is not the major neo-colonial entity that the US is, keeps mostly to itself. But it is the closest thing to US competition. But really, we are living in a world run by the whims of the US everywhere.

You can't argue with results. Say what you want about the path they took, they've successfully built a socialist market economy that is the largest, and one of the most advanced economies in the world. If it were capitalist they couldn't have deflated their real estate bubble without a major crisis.
Literally right back at you. The US is run by a reality TV star/real estate mogul and planes are falling out of the sky because he's appointed one of the richest men alive to destroy state regulatory powers and cut staffing. Point to a Capitalist calling the shots in China.
