In his 2011 book, Ron DeSantis waxed apocalyptic about politicians like Jay Rockefeller who supposedly wanted to "shut down news organizations." Not only has DeSantis not said a peep about the Trump administration's actions, he was also lying about what Rockefeller said.

This is exactly what Jay Rockefeller said in November of 2010. DeSantis knew that...the news broke while he was writing the book. He chose to silently leave out the part where Rockefeller intentionally did not single out Fox News, & where he made it clear he wasn't seriously proposing such a thing.

Free speech = the small non-profit I work for having to remove all references to "diversity, equity, and inclusion" from our website because we can't afford to jeopardize our government funding. Definitely NOT censorship. 😑
