FFS. Rep Dan Goldman should find something useful and productive to do with his time instead of suggesting that an entirely unambiguous amendment is in some way ambiguous.

If they really feel like it, they can also declare Trump is not a mere "person", but a minor deity, so those amendments don't apply :)
But it's nice to know the simplest sidestep is ruled out(ish).

I guess that "what's an insurrection" is more complicated than "how many is two" but iirc the question of whether J6 was an insurrection under Article 14 wasn't at issue in the decision.

Solid precedent exists that states can exclude people who are facially disqualified - noncitizens, underage, etc.

It's literally just "The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed."
Wouldn't do any good, of course, but, hey, at least someone is putting up something like token resistance.
