If you’re bored, that’s exactly the kind of thing you do! 😆
One time, I got so bored, I decided to try Cyanogen on a Motorola. The result? My phone refused to boot!
I ended up spending the weekend making a custom USB cable and getting the phone back to life. Fun times! 😂
Be brave. Move to Devuan (or similar). You'll see how the world can be beautiful without systemd 😍
More seriously: good luck and take good care of your backups.
If you are interested in audio classification for 521 classes with the YAMNet TensorFlow model check out my product that runs on an Ubuntu X86_64 server and also an ARM64 embedded processor (e.g. RPi Zero 2W):
I'm an Ubuntu and Fedora person myself. I'm just happy you are using Linux. I run across so many engineers that are stuck in a Redmond DOS box hell and aren't even willing to learn the way of the UNIX ancients like myself.
Linux is the way.
Network infra includes a 2.5G router, a small PoE switch, and 4 PoE powered wifi mesh EAPs. My house thankfully is wired with ethernet so that makes wifi stuff easier. I manage it all through TP-Link Omada.
The main homelab server is "sonic", a relatively beefy mini pc (Ryzen 6800H w/ 32GB of RAM). File storage is ZFS backed by a 4-bay drive enclosure. It runs a variety of services:
Very nice ive official gone full time linux now that I am off a pascal gpu since I was a pc gamer dx12 games + pascal gpu + linux didn't play well on a 3050 games on linux run perfect
I guess that's a good start. I love my Debian machines. I got a box I've been playing with Arch on, and I use Ubuntu for projects, but Debianwas my first. It's funny, I can spend 99% of my day/energy into synthesizer diy/playing etc, and then completely lose myself in a Linux update for a week lol.
oh. thanks for making me come to the realization that debian 12 will eventually be less and less supported, making me update Every Single LXC i have...
is this many, many years into the future? probably. but i already have servers old enough that i can't run mongodb on their CPU architecture, it's gonna happen eventually...
