A Boeing 757 has, very roughly, 4600 miles of range. NYC to St. Petersburg is, very roughly, 4300 miles. 757s have in the past run Newark to Berlin, a similar distance.
If the plane was fully fueled and not otherwise fully loaded, it could absolutely make it without stopping to refuel.
