let me strongly recommend the flu shot to whoever hasn't gotten one for this season. i just had a *terrible* bout with the flu that almost certainly would have been WAY worse had i not been vaccinated

Always get my shots in September. It's worth it. It may not 100% prevent illness but it will certainly mitigate the severity and likely keep you out of the hospital which preserves scarce resources for those that need it.
I got my flu shots. So thankful. My sister is a nurse and got exposed to and suggested I go ahead and get tamiflu. Had a slight tickle in my throat and a bit of phlegm, started the tamiflu and within a day I felt 100% again and have felt good for the week since.
There's a hospital org in MN that extrapolated known data regarding a typical flu vaccine - one metric they deal with that's derivable from this data is emergency room wait times.
They estimated average ER wait in January would go from 25 mins to about 7 hrs if there were no flu vaccine that year
I had a mild case of food poisoning yesterday , dont know how, as i cook all the food and nobody else got sick. i felt like my guts were trying to exist through my skin. no fever but i was sweating like i ran 560 miles. slept for 16 hours straight. im ok now, tunny still hurts a bit.
One has to be exposed to get it though. And i never leave my home. Disabled, caring for my disabled mother, husband and daughter. None of us leave the house and nobody comes in.
I would add that many seniors were never vaccinated against measles in our youth, and some of us never had the measles to impart immunity. If that's you, talk to your doctor. Mine recommends I get vaxed now. It not only protects you but also your community.
In my mother's case- she had measles SEVEN times in her youth (before the vaccine). She's 82 with a very sensitive body (we all had a semi terrible reaction to the 3rd Pfizer booster).. so I'm conflicted on whether that would work for her! If getting measles so many times didn't impart immunity?
You can ask your doc to get your MMR titers tested if you're unsure if you had the vax as a child. I'm having my tested this week. I got the vax as a kid, but it was half a century ago. If my immunity has waned, damn skippy I'm getting the MMR booster.
I know I had rubella as a child because my mother told me about it. I also gave chicken pox to my three brothers for Christmas one year. And I had pneumonia at age 9. Penicillin saved me then, and I still missed a month of school.
I got that Flu shot back in October. I also got that Novavax for Covid.
I don’t recommend it because it’s not as good as the mRNA ones. I got Covid for a couple of days without fever. So it did work.
I get mine routinely. Everyone around me has been sick, except me. I have the Flu and Covid19 booster. Anyone who thinks vaccines do nothing is absolutely ignorant and delusional. Stay healthy my friend.
Both family in Charlotte and neighbors here in Georgetown, SC recently caught it and were down for almost two weeks. They described it as HORRIBLE say they continue recovering.
I second that. Got the Influenza A shot through work and tested positive twice for Influenza A (caught it from my kids). The first time was like I had nothing. The second time it hit me hard, but nothing compared to the rest of my family.
Lesson: Better get the whole family vaccinated next year.
In the US, it’s Influenza A going around too
Which is the swine flu
Epidemiologists are worried that the Bird Flu will merge with Influenza A to make it easily transmissible to humans
Bird flu in humans has a 60% death rate.
This is the same death rate as Ebola
We need to vaccinate and mask
Yes, influenza A can cause swine flu, a respiratory disease in pigs. However, the influenza A virus that causes swine flu is different from the influenza A virus that causes the flu in humans
I've said since 2020, when I finally learned about airborne transmission due to viruses in general, that even if COVID 19 disappears overnight, now that I know better, I'll mask up for every future flu season.
We just keep wearing our masks. It’s way more acceptable now than pre COVID- 19. It’s been normalized. I agree we did use to be so innovative and proactive which occurred after the Gilded Age and the now United Billionaires of America- the thing we need to normalize is protesting and boycotting
I've never stopped wearing my mask since 2020, since COVID 19 has never ended, as much as people want to believe it has. Yes, I am often the only person in a public space in a mask...but I have my "Italian death stare" at the ready if anyone is an asshole.
Last night-with our masks on - my husband said he really liked wearing his mask. I was kind of surprised. Here in Ohio, as red state, we are always likely to run into those who stare but no one says anything now like they did in the first COVID years. I am used to stares- use a wheelchair.
Great PSA, I’ll even add to it. Even if you got the flu, you still should get the flu shot. It contains 3 other strains (in 🇨🇦), which you could still easily catch.
The flu is very aggressive. Super healthy husband (unfortunately has severe reactions to flu vax in past) got the flu and then pneumonia. In the hospital for a week then had to go back because of blood clots. Elderly mother had flu/ pneumonia too. Be careful everyone!
There are individuals who can not for some medical reason for not being able to get vaccinations. That is why we also encourage people to get vaccinated for "herd immunity." It protects you and others around you.
Keep rolling the dice, I've got my own life to live and see people dropping like flied all around me. The choice is all yours, I really don't care what you do. Still covid free after 5 years because I MITIGATE. How many infections have you had? That's rhetorical, I don't care 'bro.'
Not the illness, but the severity of it due to a compromised immune system due to repeated covid infections. Also, the studied and 100% cognitive decline after each infection. Healthy working male, right? You're silly.
Same. I got the flu several weeks after my shot this year and it was bad. Without whatever amount of help I got from the shot, I think I might've been hospitalized.
Last year in April, I got Influenza type A, but I was vaccinated and it presented mostly a mild fever, body aches and general creeping crud. But I had taken my flu shot in December and got Tamiflu right away. Doctor told me A, which is prevalent now is a nasty one. Got my shot in October
This year was the first year I didn’t get the vaccine in over 20 years. I’ve been so busy I just kept putting it off. Oh man, what a mistake. I’m in the midst of it and it’s brutal.
Same here. I blew it. Husband brought it home from work but he was vaxed. And yet it's sickest I've ever seen him. I got to do nursing duty w/a 102° fever. All this during a severe snow storm. So sick I was having Crimean War flashbacks.
My friend is an ER MD, she said the flu vaccine this year has not been working that great. she specifically recommended Tamiflu at the onset of symptoms.
That one shot has been on my agenda for decades. It is especially needed if you're older and suffer also with chronic bouts of bronchitis which could kill you if the flu hits you. And since 2021 every new Covid booster as well. It's there. Use it. Why get sick if you can avoid it??????
They don't even cost anything if you've got insurance! You can get them at the grocery store pharmacy, you don't even need a separate trip! I really do not understand people who just can't be bothered to get shots, it's so damn easy
Luckily for me, i am vaxxed because flu has been nailing everyone at work hard, especially those who chose not to be vaxxed. I get hesitation but science is there to show the pros and cons.
Yes, seems to be fairly common these days.
This is why gutting the Department of Education is such a bad idea.
Then again, I think Mr. Drano there is probably a bot account. Zero posts and all replies.
“ All hat and no cattle…” 😁
Each year, researchers work hard to determine what strains of the flu may circulate in the coming season. But dozens of strains of flu are present around the globe constantly and it mutates very quickly. Some years the best guess covers most of the circulating strains, sometimes only a few.
Rarely, the match is just weak. But even in years when the match isn’t close, there are usually enough similarities to offer some protection from severe illness. But washing hands and surfaces, covering coughs, are still needed!
Not ignorant at all. I have NEVER gotten a flu shot, I have also never gotten the flu. I trust my bodies natural defenses to protect me. They have been doing so for millions of years. Let’s see what RFK JR finds, shall we??????
With all due respect, you’re advocating for a position that can cause physical harm, so while you doing you is your business, you filling the void with misinformation that has been debunked (by the scientific method/empirical evidence) is the business of everyone.
It actually is how vaccines work. Some, like for polio, are able to (almost) guarantee you won't get sick. But because influenza and covid mutate so quickly, the vaccines are less effective. They still help your body recognize and fight these viruses and reduce how sick you get though.
I Didn’t Either—News Reports. Go Get Another Flu Shot. —Only Effective For 3 Months. Should Take You Thru End Of Flu Season.
The Numerous Flu Cases Now And Hospitalizations Warranted The Alert.
This strain can be really bad. Some people are sick for weeks, while others are sick for a few days. Most who have gotten say it is the worst flu they have ever experienced.
I heard the number of deaths that are contributed to this virus stands at 13,000. This is a fairly high number. I am sorry, someone you knew has passed away from it. Take care of yourself.
1/ Im worried about that right now. between all the conspiracy theories, the muzzling of any nuanced convo about it, the attacking of whistleblowers during 2020, and the fact that V@ccine technology is currently in private hands(the worst, most greedy/shortsighted kind of people)...
Check your “childhood” shots. As one of the kids who got everything before shots existed much, I’d had no clue that I was supposed to get a TDap every 10 years.
I just got my Tdap and will get a series of titers this week to be able to do my clinical for a dialysis tech class. At first I was a bit annoyed at the extra expense on top of everything else but now I’m glad because it will be good peace of mind now that worn brain heroine head is at the helm.
I know, right? I looked up whether I should get an MMR now that measles is a thing again (apparently not since I’d had it AND had the shot before getting pregnant).
I recently had the pneumonia shot, Shingrix and…the polio shot. Yeah, surprised me too! Due to travel. Glad I had the smallpox shot as a kid because these idiots are going to bring smallpox back.
All of this. Had influenza A for a week. Highest rate of flu, i think, ever this year in US. Welcome to our new brave world but now we have to deal with vac deniers in charge of public health.
I don't know. Fortunately haven't had the flu in 30 years. Got the flu shot twice in the past 15 years, last time maybe 5 years ago. You got the shot and still got a bad case.
Pretty sure my toddler and I have had the flu for 2 weeks. My husband got his flu shot and hasn’t gotten it. I’ve been so miserable and annoyed that I just forgot to get us ours!
Each time I take the shots I get sicker. I haven’t taken them in years and haven’t gotten the flu thankfully. But I also mask when I go out because I have asthma. I gotta pick a struggle so I pass on those shots. I deal with enough illness as is. I won’t inflict more on myself.
Same. Getting the flu shot always made me feel like I had a cold for about six months. I did it for years and then I stopped getting them. I am also allergic to many medications, including Paxlovid and nearly every antibiotic. I have masked since 2020. Can’t risk being sick.
Coughing, talking but having to catch my breath whereas I wouldn’t have issues before, mucous, fever, nausea.. they gave me an albuterol (sp?) inhaler- I’ve never needed one before. Also gave me cough medicine (benotatate I think- I’m not getting up to look) and ibuprofen (800mg).
I’ve had the flu twice. Once without a flu vac and once with a vac and anti-viral. I would always want to do the later. I missed Christmas festivities, but was able to enjoy the pics and videos sent to me. Without it, I would have been too sick.
And that's the lesson: you get vaccinated against the disease & couple that with common sense health precautions like covering your cough, washing your hands, etc., and you have a much better chance of your immune system killing the disease before it can take hold, bcuz it created antibodies for it
Not sure if it's the same variant or the flu but I had it NYE and it was awful. Never got the shot because of my schedule and learned the harsh consequences of not prioritizing that.
Absolutely right. I got Flu, RSV, and Covid. Haven't had the flu, but had my first bout with Covid. It was three days, one that felt like I had a cold coming on, one with a horrible headache, body aches, and fever, and a third where I was clearly on the mend. Not your average Covid.
sounds sounds like the normal symptoms. COVID caught me 3 separate times. I had been vaccinated, and symptoms were milder, but the 3rd time I was late getting vaccine. It knocked me and my wife down for the count for a long time. Don't remember how long, but it felt like forever.
Also, wear a mask in public. 1) May as well use our personal COVID stockpile. 2) There are a lot of anti-vaxxers out there; why risk hospitalization just because they’re irresponsible. 3) Protest gesture against new HHS Secretary Brain Worm (aka Jeffrey Dahmer of the animal world).
I was wearing a mask to work and when I’d come home my parents would make fun of me for doing so. Next thing you know they’re sick as well as my toddler sister who had to be hospitalized (although because of RSV). She had to be put on oxygen. It’s all fun and games until you get sick too.
I was the only person wearing a mask at the indoor kids playground this weekend. It was packed to the gills with sick kids. Eff that. I was happy to have it.
My husband is dealing with that right now. A. I know he’d be in the hospital if not for the shot. He barely recovered from pneumonia when the coughing started up again.
I too with Covid! Shingles also… girlfriend I tried to tell to get the shingles shot. She did not and as she must be my one and three that are predicted to get it. Supposed to cruise in May hopefully she as well.
I spread the Gospel According to Shingrix every chance I get. My sister got shingles during chemo for breast cancer (she's still cancer-free 18 years later). If for any reason your immune system isn't working well, shingles could make its presence known.
Jamelle, you are absolutely right. Very good service announcement. Both my sister and her husband got the flu. Her husband had the flu shot, and my sister did not. Her husband got over it in 3 days, and my sister suffered for over two weeks. I can still hear it a little in her voice. Terrible.
I am so glad you are feeling better. We just buried our 39 year old niece. She had the flu and it affected her healthy heart and she went into cardiac arrest. My 37 year old nephew was hospitalized at the same time she was on life support. This flu season is no joke.
I’m so sorry. There has to be some different strain. My kid got so sick she landed up in the hospital. Her bf and his friends got it terribly.
They did get there shots. I do recommend getting them but I wonder what is going on. Seems like another strain but I’m not a dr.
So sorry to hear that. Influenza A is so much more serious than Influenza B. My sister-in-law’s heart was affected 20 years back. She survived the infection but her heart was permanently damaged. So very sad.
Absolutely get the flu shot. Whatever A strain is burning through NYC right now is particularly awful. (I had my 2024-25 flu shot, and it was still the sickest I've probably ever been. I've heard the same from many friends in NYC.)
Same here. I was vaccinated. I caught the flu anyway, but I'll call it mild compared to reports. Three days of misery, but I'm medically vulnerable. I'll take being miserable over being dead.
The one year I skipped my flu shot I ended up in an ambulance to the ER with the worst flu I’d ever experienced. This isn’t 24 hour bug stuff, this was BRUTAL.
The problem, of course, is that our vaccine skeptic friends seem to have great difficulty understanding the concept of the counterfactual. The "what would have been but for" situation.
With the new head of the Health Dept. , you would have been lucky to find a flu shot. Good that you got one. Unfortunately, it won't protect us from the bird flu. And who knows if anyone is working on or testing one.
My family skipped the flu shot one year, and we allbwound up with the flu. For me, it was when all my final projects were due, senior year. It was an absolute nightmare and we all swore never again
I got sick on Christmas 2024, and was bed ridden for 5 days. I hadn't been getting a flu vaccine for a while because it never crossed my mind, even after covid. Now going forward I'm gonna make sure to get one as much as I can, because I absolutely do not want to experience that ever again.
Same. I thought I had COVID in Dec (after flying). Took the COVID-Flu test at home & was surprised it was the flu. I had high fever spikes for 7 days straight, but otherwise, I was okay after first 2 days. Outside of the fever, it was the mildest flu I’ve had, & I think it was bc I was vaccinated.
Me too. I tested positive for type A but it did not provide further detail, and there are a bunch of subs under A. Interestingly my doctor told me the flu shot doesn’t make a diffeeence because there are so many strains and always new ones
That's why I don't take them... Had one in my life and actually got flu badly because of it!!! My body rejected it and haven't had flu ( God's grace) since then.!!!!
Yep, l got my shot but still spent last week in that strange, horrid place called ‘flu. Population: you.
Vile.
I hope as many people as possible AVOID it!
It’s an ugly one this time around. People that I know who’ve had the flu this year say it’s horrendous. One prevailing symptom seems to be dizziness to the point of passing out.
I agree. I was sick for two months and I had the double shot. My other half works with the public and brings everything home. I usually am sick much longer. I m diabetic with no immunity for viruses.
Wearing my mask when out and about. OTHER family members aren’t. Currently listening to someone violently vomiting and coughing. An “adult” who thinks I’m overreacting when it comes to this shit. So now I’M fucked even coming home. Sigh.
I loathe people who don’t care about other people and refuse to mask. I have an autoimmune condition and I can’t get vaccinated. I also have to be so careful. I’m always masked when I’m out or near someone and some of my family members refuse so I had to say I’m staying away from them.
At home, do you have your own room? Can you afford HEPA cleaners? Can you open your windows to ventilate? I'm sorry you have to live with people who want to live in fantasyland and not in reality.
I’m currently allowing my adult daughter and her partner to live here while they seek a new home. It’s been a year now. Just moved my 19 yr old back in so I’m sharing a room with her. I have a 2 bdrm apt. Barely afford rent so no hepa. Cold out and heater on. No escape
We mask in public indoor spaces in my household, and have multiple purifiers.... still, this winter has been VERY bad for germs. I got noro virus in December after Christmas, and my mom just got over a nasty respiratory virus. I can tell you that bleach on surfaces, and air purifiers HELPS a lot.
Can’t afford filters. PGE is 300 a month. Rent is 1800. Food costs. I’ve been sick 3x since November. No sick time left. All I can do is bitch about it. Can’t afford solutions. 😑
I just had that as well. I ran a fever for 36hrs and was exhausted for a couple of days. I’m certain it would have been worse if I hadn’t had the shot.
I haven't had the flu in 20 years thanks to faithfully getting my flu shot every year. But I do remember the last time I had it and it was horrible and not worth ever having again. Be good to yourself and get your shot.
Everyone in my house been sick the last few days, including the grandkids. I had my flu shot. When my daughter called into work sick for two days, they said they already had her covered, many of her co-workers were sick with the flu as well.
I hear you. I had the same experience. I got the vaccine but was still quite sick for two weeks. I don't want to imagine what it would been like if I had not been vaccinated.
Can you imagine the response you’d get if you were to post this on Twitter? “Why don’t you mind your business?” “Why are you worried about others not being vaccinated if you are?”
They still exist here (And now DMing people. Look at my feed, I showed a DM of someone for some reason warning me not to get vaccinated. This was someone whom just followed me.. Gotta say, I prefer the "Buy my books" right after a DM then the antivaxxers. Hopefully the report actually works here!
I mean, a significant portion of them literally don't. But yeah, we probably shouldn't be dehumanizing people, even the ones who are completely indistinguishable from the bots.
Someone on this very reply list just pulled that too. (Blocked them), like did they want a medal for admitting they don't get vaccinated? (Bluesky is still better though.)
Saying you got sick from the vaccine is kind of far fetched, when the more likely scenario is you already encountered the virus right before you got the shot. I showed symptoms of COVID the day after I got the booster a few years ago because I probably came in contact with somebody days before.
So jump me and gang rape me. Lol but I ain't getting the flu shot. Only got it once and got the flu. Plus look at all the people on here that got the shot and still got the flu. Yeah. I'm good. But you do you. Twitter is vile. 🍻
Also: if you're too old to have received the pneumonia vaccine series as a child, could be worth looking into the one-shot adult version. Here in Ontario (Canada) it's free for adults over 65 and those with risk factors under 65.
I just got influenza-A, and it doesn't mess around. It went straight for my lungs. Lots of people at my gym were coughing, so that's probably where I caught it.
Yup. This year it’s Influenza A. If you see it happen with anyone else point them to the CDC rec to subtype because it’s clearly different. Sorry you had to go through that
It means test more specifically. H5N1 - the avian influenza currently wreaking havoc - is a subtype of flu A.
So, we could be missing out on identifying cases of avian flu, because they test positive for flu A but don't send it for subtyping to see if it might be H5N1...
Thanks for your concern! She is recovering. She was on oxygen at home, as needed, so right now she is using continuous. Status quo for 85 years old with COPD.
I’m curious am I the only one thinking about getting the MMR vaccine before they decide to ban them? I had it as a kid but don’t remember getting it again as an adult. I however don’t want the measles. Anyone know if it’s advisable? Would it help or be counterproductive as I’ve had the vaccine b4.
I was vaccinated for flu for my nursing job and still got it - really bad. My husband did not get vaccinated and did not get it, my son not vaccinated got it. Viruses are weird.
the graphs show particle levels in the water by region.
cdc is having hospitals test for bird flu to try and find mutations and cases. we’ve found that vets have the antibodies for the flu…even tho they didn’t report feeling sick at all. so, only testing those that are sick is not enough.
That is how the Flu shot works. There are lots of Flu variations around and the flu shot provides antibodies which help with the strains that are going around.
If you are correct, then the cause is probably antibodies. But have you looked into an alternate universe to see how things played out when you did not get the shot?
Almost 20 years ago, I got so sick with the flu I thought I was on the edge of death. I was young and very healthy. Never again. I get my flu shot and encourage everyone I know to get it. Insurance makes it free!
I had a similar situation about 30 years ago. Was in my early 30s. I thought I was going to slip into death. Prior to that, I couldn’t understand how people died from the flu. I now get the jab every year!
Same story, same timing! Got it 20 yrs ago, in my early 30s, healthy, but it knocked me out for at least 10 days. CRAWLING to the bathroom. Fever, throat on fire, cough. Delirious. Scary. I just had this flu that is circulating and whew I’m glad I got the vax. It was bad but would have been worse.
I got the new avian flu going around. Let me be the first to say, if they have a vaccine for it, PLEASE take it. 2 weeks of pure misery and for the first time in my life I relapsed into the flu because I didn't take "resting" nearly as seriously as I should have.
I should have been more specific, they came to my home and did a test. They did not tell me the subtype, they did tell me it was the new avian flu and that it has been circulating recently in my area. They checked in on me a few times. Mine came with viral tonsillitis.
I live in the Netherlands, they came to my home and tested me. It's the new avian flu and it has been going around. I don't know the subtype but my doctors did.
I was just in the ER for some other thing and when I asked if they had been busy, the nurse said they were pretty overwhelmed with flu cases--many more than usual.
I got it, also got the Flu. Two weeks bedridden.
Not sure if the vaccine is partially effective when it is not 100% effective.
Maybe an expert can weigh in on this?
The info so far indicates that this year’s flu vaccine reduces doctors’ visits for the flu by about 50%. The vaccine isn’t a perfect match for all circulating strains but still reduces severity.
Thanks for link. I gave it a quick read. So, though a vaccine is not a perfect match to the current virus, due to all the DNA/Clade business, it still reduces the extent of the flu symptoms.
My elderly mother, who is immunocompromised, got flu despite being vaccinated. It lasted 3 days and she didn't even have to take to her bed! Without the vaccination, it literally could have killed her. I'm always vaccinated since the time I got flu and broke a rib coughing!
I got the vaccine and was still in bed for 2 days. My daughter didn’t get the vaccine and was a lot sicker than I was, get the vaccine. I would have wound up in the hospital.
I had Covid two weeks ago. Paxlovid gets me. I can’t booster. So I ride the wave. It tastes like I’m sucking on a metal license plate for five days but I live to see another day. Duh.
I just had COVID for the first time. Caught it visiting dad at a senior living facility. So glad to be vaccinated. It wasn’t fun, but I was better in a couple of days. Dad went to the hospital. ☹️
I started flu shots 20 years ago. The one year, I didn't have medical insurance in 2007, I didn't get it, I got the flu!! I've dodged it ever since. Plus, I just don't like being sick at all!!!
I got the Pneumococcal vaccine, the RSV one, and a Covid Booster. (61 yr old here). Haven’t gotten the flu shot yet bc I traditionally don’t get it; it’s always based on previous year’s strain and about 50% efficacy at best. And I react to the preservative. Plan on getting the shingles one.
I do still wear one in doctors offices and kind of wish it was recommended more in those settings, esp primary care waiting rooms where half the people are probably sick
I got my flu and Covid shots in October. I work in a grade school and the kids are currently passing Influenza A around. I haven't been sick yet.
If I do, I hope it's mild. Some of the kids missed a whole week!
Comments
They estimated average ER wait in January would go from 25 mins to about 7 hrs if there were no flu vaccine that year
I encourage everyone who ever had chicken pox to get vaccinated for shingles.
I’m 82
Also had the polio vaccine when it came out
If you weren’t vaccinated or revaccinated with the second or aren’t sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. You may need an MMR to make sure.
I don’t recommend it because it’s not as good as the mRNA ones. I got Covid for a couple of days without fever. So it did work.
Glad to hear you recovered.
Lesson: Better get the whole family vaccinated next year.
VACCINES WORK!

I wish we would normalize mask wearing especially when you feel a little "off," and also created standards for ventilation.
So tired of this America that can't fix problems or do big things anymore.
If my husband were alive, I know he'd happily mask up, he'd be a cancer survivor.
Stay dumb.
Some people had to wait ages.
I’m glad you’re feeling better. 💯

Sending positive vibes for good health. 🙏🏾

You don't need another shot if you already have one. It will start to wane in 9 months or so.
BTW v@ccine tech is world changing, like fire, the wheel, and agriculture.
And besides, herd immunity works. I studied evolutionary immunology as part of my medical laboratory scientist training. Not to mention microbiology.
The #science is very sound.
I was vaxed in Oct ! And was sick about 2 weeks ago, and a couple times I thought, man this is it, I'm on my way out !
Get better
But I remember my grandmother getting shingles several times - she was in terrible pain.
So worth a few aches & pains for a day or so.
Good to know vaccines work. Someone should tell the new HHS Secretary this.
If I hadn't already gotten my shingles shot right when I turned 50, your post would get me out there to do so stat.
If you are too far from your state capitol, demonstrate at your city hall, or on a busy street corner in your town, or on an overpass.

They did get there shots. I do recommend getting them but I wonder what is going on. Seems like another strain but I’m not a dr.
If your vaccine status is unknown, ask for a titer (blood test) or a jab. An extra jab won't hurt you. Thankfully, MMR provides lifelong immunity.
