Correct. The tech oligarchs absolutely believe immortality is possible. It’s why they are pushing AI so relentlessly. Because they think it will help bring about the Singularity (machine/human merging). It’s why Musk is doing Neuralink. I wish I was kidding but they are deadly serious.

"Obessed with longevity," are they searching for a way to achieve immortality? If so, this is nonsense.

All of the immortality obsessed assholes should have to be their own first subject. World would be a lot better place if Musk neuralinked himself first lol
Which is to say this attitude is significantly retrograde to ancient Egypt.
Of course, this means these techbros think themselves not merely gods, but actually Gods. Kind of… maximalist megalomania?
THAT’S NOT YOU!
It’s a copy, at best, and you, the *you* you’ve experienced your entire life, will still expire when your body does.
All the PayPal founders are fucking insane
The trouble I see with AI is that given the huge discrepancies in data, it can be wildly useful at one very specific thing but horrible at something else. Often within the same domain... with no way to know what it will be good at until you've bought it.
It’s almost like they don’t understand human nature 🤷🏼♀️
Not a big fan of moving to "we don't know what it does well but subscribe anyway and figure it out yourself" software.
It doesn't even need to be epistemology, formal logic would be enough.

Same old story but this time with invasive brain surgery and putting rapidly obsolescent tech into your head
Those results are... unpleasant.
