For a few seconds it sounds like it could reduce waste and reign in budgets, but they will use the numbers as a guide and add to them, and shift business from enemies to friends of the administration

USX, as it’s called, is filled with propriety technological & patent data from the competitors of, say, SpaceX. It gives a unique, regulator’s-eye view of global arms markets, down to nonpublic contract info like prices & delivery dates. Things that can be undercut with such insider access.

The State Department gave me a nonresponse when I asked whether it had cleared the way for DOGE to access it. (DOD, which ignored me, controls access.) But another source said the new chief of its parent agency, Jim Holtsnider, saw USX’s rather archaic tech and said they needed to bring DOGE in.
